Waggin Train Chicken Jerky Tenders 40oz Review

Waggin Train Chicken Jerky Tenders 40oz
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My beagle absolutely loves these, but we think they may have gotten him sick. He started having diarrhea, which stopped when he went on an exclusive chicken and rice diet. Once he was better, we stayed with the same diet, but gave him a tiny bit of the chicken treat (because we thought it was healthy -- it's just chicken, right?). The diarrhea was back almost immediately. After the Walmart recall this week of a different brand of chicken strips, I'm scared to give these to him anymore. I don't care it's irradiated or not, something's not right with this food. Chicken is a hard meat to process -- lots of bacteria. I'd rather be safe with food from a responsible, high-end, organic pet food company than risk my dog's health with this product.

Blue Dog Bakery Premium Natural Low Fat Dog Treats, Peanut Butter & Molasses, 20-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6)
These are an excellent product. I first started buying them for my two large dogs, and both love their treats. Unfortunately, they are both slightly overweight. These are perfect, as they are low fat and made from natural ingredients. They must taste great, as my dogs always want them at treat time.
I highly recommend Blue Dog Bakery Premium Natual Low Fat Dog Treats to anyone who is looking for a healthy, low fat, appealing dog treat for their dogs.

Originally, these were made in US. Now made in China ( see back of bag) ... advertised as natural, cage free, no hormones, no fillers, no antibiotics ...HUH? Not in China... I will not trust these as safe treats. Follow up: My dogs vomited after they ate these. 3/09 original warnings from FDA 2007 re: chicken product from China... a follow up was issued by the FDA again on 12/18/08 to remain vigilant and of concern if fed to smaller dogs.

Dogswell Vitality for Dogs Review

Dogswell Vitality for Dogs
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My puppy loves these vitality treats. After reading the other two reviews I became concerned and quickly e-mailed the company with my concerns. Here is what they replied to me which immediately relieved my worries. They also sent me documentation of their checks on the products and pictures of the non-caged chickens.
ello Karen,

Thank You for contacting us here at DOGSWELL?.

The DOGSWELL? manufacturing facilities meet the highest and most strict sanitary conditions. All of our plants have HACCP programs, have received high scores by independent Third Party auditors, have strict raw ingredient standards and continuously check our products during processing and when they are finished to ensure they meet our high quality standards. Our wet food for dogs, our dry food for dogs and our biscuits are manufactured in the U.S. and our treats are manufactured in China. We regularly visit our manufacturing facilities to ensure the quality and safety of our products. We are always looking to bring the manufacturing over to the United States, we have just not found a supplier who will add all of the vitamins and nutrients that we want at a price the consumer is willing to pay, once we find one, we will definitely bring it back over to the US.

We don't determine our source country for ingredients based solely on the country of origin; we find the best quality ingredient combined with the highest quality supplier and testing specifications and select them. You can be confident that DOGSWELL? products are natural, high-quality and provide the best for your pet.

Please know we certify that our products are safe and clean with regular testing and ensure that our products meet high quality standards. We test product from each batch that is produced and have never had our results come back positive for ANY harmful ingredients such as cyanuric acid, melamine, e.coli and salmonella. Moreover, please note that no DOGSWELL? product contains milk powder.

We regularly test our products for any harmful contaminants and to ensure that they meet our quality standards. Along with an in-depth knowledge of our supply chain, our regular tests assure our customers that we are providing their pets with only the very best ingredients. Tests are conducted at independent, third-party, U.S. laboratories that follow FDA and APPMA-approved methodology. Please see attached for an example of test results for our treats; I have attached one of our VITALITY(tm) products that were tested recently.

Our material suppliers are certified clean and clear of any contaminants. If raw ingredients do not meet their specifications and pass safety tests, then the ingredient is rejected immediately and never enters our processing facilities. Moreover, we strive to use products from suppliers that treat their animals humanely. Please see attached for an image of our chickens in their barn. I do not know of a reliable site that describes the process.

Please know that we honestly believe that pets are family too and we feed our products to our own pets regularly. Again, we test product from each batch that is produced and have never had our results come back positive for ANY harmful ingredients.
Please don't hesitate to contact me with ANY questions.

Thank You,
Jeff

Zuke's Mini Naturals Dog Treats Review

Zuke's Mini Naturals Dog Treats
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Mini Naturals - 1 pound - Salmon Flavored
Great product for training dogs! I use them all the time for training (walking on a lead, sitting, fetching). They are high in flavor so even with our 7 month Golden Retriever, treats cut in half work well for a reward. Unlike dog kibble or other treats, these are quickly digested so that your dog will not be gagging on them as he/she works on the next behavior. To keep fresh, keep bag tightly closed and put a portion of the cut treats in a resealable sandwich bag. If they do get exposed to air and dry out, a small portion of a moistened paper towel in the bag will restore them to original texture.

Omega Paw Tricky Treat Ball Review

Omega Paw Tricky Treat Ball
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This treat ball is probably not for every dog, but our 8 month old Shiba Inu puppy absolutely adores it and so do we. Our trainer recommended that we use a treat ball as a way to challenge our puppy and focus his energy on something "productive" (for him, at least). This does the trick better than any other similar product. It is very durable yet (unlike a Buster Cube) soft enough that nothing gets damaged as it rolls into walls, chairs and the like. We use it for half of his kibble at each meal. After about 4 weeks of daily use, our ball is starting to show signs of wear but we have gotten far more use out of this than any other "toy" we've purchased.
Our puppy is a high energy, very food motivated, tough-chewing, smart little guy who can get treats out of his Kong and open the child gate in under 5 minutes. But while this treat ball requires patience, our normally "A.D.D." puppy will persistently push this ball around the kitchen until he gets every last piece of kibble out. That can take 20-30 minutes. The ball does not make a good "chew toy" for a tough chewer (like our dog, who can chew off the top of a red Kong), however. We make sure to take it away after he empties it. Otherwise, it would never have lasted this long.

Solid Gold Beef Jerky Dog Treats Review

Solid Gold Beef Jerky Dog Treats
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
A dog trainer recommended Solid Gold Beef Jerky to me. I can only find it online. I have two dogs--a maltese and a golden retriever. It's great for training or just giving your dog a yummy treat. You can easily break them into smaller pieces for small dogs or just give the full size to a larger dog. Both my dogs go nuts when I take these out. The golden actually drools in anticipation for how tasty they are. They'll both choose this over anything else. It's a little pricey--so I try to use sparingly.

Waggin Train Chicken Jerky Tenders Dog Treats - 48oz. Bag Review

Waggin Train Chicken Jerky Tenders Dog Treats - 48oz. Bag
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This post is in response to the death of my dog Chelsea. My dog was a healthy border collie mix. She had shown no signs of any illness until one night I come home to find her lethargic at the bottom of the stairs. She could not move or stand up. Thankfully we have a 24 hour vet nearby. She was taken immediately and given a check up and had blood work done. The blood work came back with high spikes in her liver enzymes which the vet said was due to something that she ingested. The only thing that that had been introduced to her diet recently was Waggin Train chicken jerky treats. I had been feeding them to my dog for a few months (she loved them). I immediately stopped feeding her the treats. After being off the treats for a week she had another round of blood work and her liver enzymes started to return to normal. We had 1 more round of blood scheduled in 2 weeks to make sure that her liver has returned to normal. But unfortunately Chelsea did not live that long. I woke up on the morning of May 30th to her having a Gran Mal Seizure due to high toxin levels and she died in my arms. After her death I started researching Waggin Train Jerky treats and was amazed to find the large number of people that had posted instances of illness or death of their pet and they felt very strongly that the treats contributed to the illness or death. The FDA has issued an advisory concerning the feeding of chicken jerky products from China. Based on the fact that my dog had high liver enzymes and the vet attributed it to her ingesting something toxic and the fact that her liver enzymes started to return to normal after I stopped feeding her the treats I believe that the Waggin Train chicken jerky treats that I had been feeding her contributed to her death. I am not saying that every treat or every bag is dangerous but with them coming from China you never know what was added to them in the Chinese facility. My suggestion, stay away from them and you will also stay away from a $1000.00 vet bill like I had as well as the loss of a pet. JUST BEWARE. If you have experienced similar problems pass the word around. You can also file a complaint with the FDA. My suggestion is to do your own research, just Google waggin train jerky illness. You can read comments from other pet owners and make you own decision as to whether you want to feed this brand of treat or any other that is imported from China to your pet. I am posting this in memory of my beloved Chelsea and hope that the post will help to save the life of other pets. As consumers we should be able to question the safety of a product if we feel that it has caused harm. After my first post a friend that Lives in Las Vegas said that they had given their dog these treats and their dog had bloody diarrhea so they stopped feeding their dog the treats and their dogs bowels returned to normal.

Alaskan Bear Treats Wild-Alaskan Salmon Oil for Dogs Review

Alaskan Bear Treats Wild-Alaskan Salmon Oil for Dogs
Average Reviews:

My dog was experiencing horrific allergy's. He would scratch at his face so much that he actually got a corneal ulcer in his eye. The vet told me to try salmon oil, and it was not available at any of our local pet stores. It was a lot cheaper than some other places that were selling the product online. Absolutely a most have for doggie allergy sufferers.
