I will not trust these as safe treats. Follow up: My dogs vomited after they ate these. 3/09 original warnings from FDA 2007 re: chicken product from China... a follow up was issued by the FDA again on 12/18/08 to remain vigilant and of concern if fed to smaller dogs.

(More customer reviews)After my dog's recent TPLO surgery I searched for something to help keep her joints healthy. I bought these treats because of the great reviews I found online. I've tried both the peanut butter and these (lamb & rice) and my dog likes this flavor best. I have a bigger dog and these treats are small so I give her a handful twice a day.
Please note the biscuits arrive in a cardboard box, but are loose in an open bag. The bag is flimsy and not air tight. Once they arrive I immediately put them in air tight containers to ensure freshness, I suggest you do too. Hopefully they will come up with a better method for shipping.

My vet has examined the ingredients and stated that it is a good therapeutic amount of glucosamine and chondroiten to help a dog's joints. Many treats that state they have glucosamine and chondroiten have a token amount in the ingredients. This product has an actual therapeutic amount. It will not cure any joint problems, but it will help to slow down deterioration due to aging.

She jumps and runs around like she is 10 years younger. I wholeheartedly recommend it for the older cat with joint problems. I have always used the Missing Link supplement for my Border Collie, Macadoodle, and have recently upgraded to the Plus Glucosamine Formula due to his just turning 12 years old.
Missing Link is simply amazing in the fact that it seems to have set the clock back a few years for Mac. For instance, Mac has any easier time getting up from a laying down position and does not appear to be stiff anymore. He also moves swiftly up and down the stairs-like he used to-when he was younger. The added Glucosamine seems to have helped him with stiffness and mobility.
Missing Link formula is so wondrous that I was seriously thinking of adding to my own smoothies! LOL. I was envious of Mac's lustrous coat!
I know the Missing Link formula has made a measureable difference in the luster of Mac's coat. In fact, once I ran out of Missing Link and was unable to find it at my local pet store anymore. The short time Mac was without Missing Link, his coast lost its brilliance: The once shiny coat became dull.

(More customer reviews)I'm so glad Amazon is selling the kitty treats now (in addition to the doggie version). I have 2 large orange tabby cats, which the vet said are genetically predisposed to hip problems. He said they could have a glucosamine supplement to help with this. I have fed a few treats daily (which they LOVE!) to both cats since they were 6 months old, and have had no hip problems so far. Cats go crazy for these treats and there are a few varieties, so they don't get bored. I also give the flaxseed and vitamin version of the treats, 1 bag to every 2 bags of the happy hips version. One bag lasts a couple of weeks, fed daily per instructions. This price is excellent, especially with the subcribe and save. Our local health food store sells these treats for $4.00 a bag. This is a great way to give a cat vitamin supplements. They willingly (and eagerly) eat them.

This liquid form of glucosomine has about the same ingredients as those cosequin pills and I can easily mix it in her food with no smell issues! She eats it every time!! It has taken some of the limp out of her back legs and she seems to move a little easier when taking this med.

She likes them very much (but not as much as greenies those seem to be dog crack). They smell good and I am happy that she eats them since I bought 3 containers of them. Looks like they are helping her. Now if I could find something to help my joint pain that would be great.

I've been familiar with this product for a couple years. Just a week ago I bought some of these from a store and they were soft and semi-transparent as they always had been in the past. Their texture was always similar to a gummy bear.
The 10pack I just received from Amazon is hard, dry, and dark like beef jerky. I don't even know how this is possible if they are made with chicken breast so clearly, they are made with dark meat of some sort or are made from burned white meat. I offered one of the darker treats to one of our many cats and she choked on it. I have alerted Amazon to the issue and suggested an immediate recall. I contacted Dogswell/Catswell, as well. So far nobody has offered any relief. Do not feed these to your cat if they are dark and hard, it is a serious choking hazard.
On another note, there is more reason for concern. I have repeatedly asked the manufacturer if the chicken breast used in the Catswell treats is treated with a salt solution before it is is purchased by Catswell. "They" will not answer my question. This is very important information for people who have cats with CRF, and other imbalances which can be affected by salt/iodine intake. If anyone can get them to answer this question fairly and completely, please let me know.
