What can I say about this product? Strips of dried duck breast, packed in a sealed plastic bag with a cardboard label attached to the top. The dog seems to really enjoy them.

We have a bull dog which is a breed with known joint problems, and we have a beagle with a messed up hip (she was born that way). I tried giving them glucosamine, but they hated it: even the ones that were "chicken flavored." These treats have the medicine they need and the dogs LOVE them!

Bit-O-Luv Bistro Beef Recipe Dog Treats, 4.0-Ounce Pouch (Pack of 6) Review

Bit-O-Luv Bistro Beef Recipe Dog Treats, 4.0-Ounce Pouch (Pack of 6)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Made in the USA, no by-products, no wheat gluten, no artificial flavors or colors. The company is based in Albany, Oregon, a couple hours drive from where I live, and a portion of their proceeds goes to help pets in need.
Obviously, my sheltie, Zoey, loves these treats. They smell and look just like beef jerky made for humans... even I thought they smelled mouth-watering. These Bit-O-Luv beef treats are a far better treat for your dog than most of the dog treat offerings in the grocery store.
The only downside is in the ingredient list - my dog would've loved them just as much if they didn't have added sugar (dextrose and corn syrup). She's fed a half kibble, half raw food diet, so she gets a lot of broccoli, cauliflower, green beans... low sugar, low calorie veggies, as a way to help her lose/maintain weight. Even with exercise, it's easy for her to gain weight and hard for her to lose weight, so I'm lucky she looks at these veggies as yummy treats. She's picky, and she will snub treats/foods. I don't want her to get conditioned to sweet 'n' salty snacks (like I am!!) and start to look at her veggies as bland (like I do!!).
So, these will be given sparingly to Zoey, couple times a week. I think the salt is low enough on the ingredient list, but the dextrose and corn syrup seem to come too closely behind the beef and chicken. My go-to treat for Zoey, given daily for all the little good things she does, will continue to be Zuke's Mini Naturals. She loves the Zuke's Minis in all flavors, and there's no sweeteners.
As a yummy treat only given once in a while, it's fine enough that I wouldn't knock a star off my rating. Also, people with healthy, lean dogs who never gain an ounce won't mind if there's sweeteners. In any case, in terms of quality, these Bit-O-Luv treats are still amongst the best, in my opinion.
**From the package**
"Ingredients: Beef, chicken, dextrose, water, corn syrup, soy protein isolate, natural smoke flavor, salt, potassium sorbate (preservative), paprika oleoresin, and sodium nitrite (preservative).
A percentage of our proceeds go to help four legged friends at local charities."

Dogswell Happy Hips for Dogs Review

Dogswell Happy Hips for Dogs

Originally, these were made in US. Now made in China ( see back of bag) ... advertised as natural, cage free, no hormones, no fillers, no antibiotics ...HUH? Not in China... I will not trust these as safe treats. Follow up: My dogs vomited after they ate these. 3/09 original warnings from FDA 2007 re: chicken product from China... a follow up was issued by the FDA again on 12/18/08 to remain vigilant and of concern if fed to smaller dogs.

Smokehouse 100% Natural Snack Mix Bucket of Dog Treats Review

Smokehouse 100% Natural Snack Mix Bucket of Dog Treats
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
If you have a "gulper" please be VERY careful with this product!!! Please supervise your pets with this treat, as the pieces are VERY small and I can see may present a choking hazard or cause internal blockage for some dogs. I have a 14lb pooch who is a self regulator (ie. wont wolf down her food all at once, but graze here and there.) and have no issues with food or toys; meaning even if she has a nice juicy steak in her mouth, I can easily get it right out of her mouth with not even much of a protest. She also knows the leave it command, and will drop stuff for me to get away from her.
Despite those facts, I am still pretty leery of given her these..."just in case." But my dog is my baby... so she only gets it when I am right there with her and can supervise, and I make sure she is actually chewing them.
The variety is nice, and the smell isnt as bad as some bull's stick, or hooves or whatever on the market. Also, the ingredients are all natural, which is important to me.
However, I worry too much about the pieces being so small....so despite the fact that she likes 'em (she is a very picky eater.) This will probably be the one and only time I will purchase this product.

Wellness Pure Rewards All-Natural Delicious Beef Jerky Bits Dog Treats Review

Wellness Pure Rewards All-Natural Delicious Beef Jerky Bits Dog Treats
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Ah, finally, a treat that JP, my dog loves. Wellness came out with a "Pure Rewards" beef jerky bits for dogs, and these all-natural, tender jerky treats are highly palatable, even to the most discriminating palate. Best of all, the ingredients are easy to understand (which is important), and contain: beef, dried chicory root, cultured whey, sea salt, lecithin, and mixed tocopherols (which is a natural preservative). Four paws up for these tasty treats! Absolutely tasty and palatable!

Nesco American Harvest 5-Tray FD-35 425-Watt Snackmaster Dehydrator Review

Nesco American Harvest 5-Tray FD-35 425-Watt Snackmaster Dehydrator
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I chose a top-element dehydrator as it's easier to clean (no drips onto the bottom element.) This dehydrator has sturdy, slightly flexible plastic trays. It's a bit noisy; when the heat goes on there is a whine I don't like, and the fan of course is noisy too. So making dehydrated foods (takes hours) needs a separate room, maybe the cellar.
The price is right on this dehydrator, but you need sheets for making jerky and fruit leathers. They aren't included (that's the minus-a-star) but you can pick them up at kitchen supply stores.

Merrick Doggie 15 Wishbone 6-8" Review

Merrick Doggie 15 Wishbone 6-8
Average Reviews:

My dogs love to chew...and chew...and chew. Even though they're little, finding something that will last more than a few minutes is a challenge. My dogs love these wishbones, which are beef tendons. These tendons, made in the US, are highly digestible yet last a good amount of time. For us, that's several days of good chewing.

Costless Pet Treats Duck Breast Fillets, 32-Ounce Review

Costless Pet Treats Duck Breast Fillets, 32-Ounce
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Actual dried duck filets (minimum crude protein 68%, min. fat 2%, moisture 18%). don't know how they do it at this price, but of course it is a product of China. It states on the 2 lb bag that 9 lbs of duck meat were used which would be typical for any jerky. Because it is solid meat (obvious to the eye and how it breaks apart) there should be No issue with melamine. Each piece is around 5-6 inches long, 1/2 to 3/4 " wide, and about an 1/8" thick with natural variance in size expected with dried solid meat and little to no smell. The bag is resealable. The treats have a typical dried beef jerky texture so they are consumed fairly quickly, at least by our dogs (60 lbs and 75 lbs) But most important, our dogs absolutely love them. Your dogs will thank you. My folks in a different state have been able to get these at CostCo at a very good price
