(More customer reviews)Our three cats are enthusiastic about Pounce cat treats, so we expected them to be equally enthusiastic about Greenies. They were not.
They each tried three treats and then left. Our long-haired orange male left to throw up his treats, but being a long-hair, he throws up from grooming his fur so much. I do not necessarily attribute the vomiting to Greenies.
I did search for menadione sodium bisulfite (MSB) as another reviewer suggested, but I did not find in my search that menadione sodium bisulfite (MSB) is a poison. Menadione is an irritant in its pure form and irritates skin and mucous membranes, but the study I read indicated no adverse effects from menadione sodium bisulfite (MSB)in animal studies.
We won't be buying Greenies again because of the lukewarm reception it received, but, if your cat likes it, I wouldn't worry about the menadione sodium bisulfite (MSB) it contains. It might be a problem if that was all your cat ate, but treats are treats, not standard diets, and should be given in only small amounts.

Dogswell Cat Happy Hips Chicken Breast Treats Review

(More customer reviews)This is the only brand of cat treat my cat will eat but lately the treats are hard and thick, whereas when I first started buying them they were more shaved or slivered. Essentially these are fortified chicken jerky so the thickness and consequent "toughness" of each piece is what I am reacting to. My Burmese is little, with a little mouth (weighs only 7.5 pounds) and he has more trouble with the bigger chunks these are now coming in. I noticed other reviewers have had the same comments for this as well as for Catswell VitaKitty Chicken Breast Treats -- for which I have the same opinion and will leave the same review. At one point I even called the manufacturer directly because the product was so much darker than my last package; they assured me it was a normal variation and was wholesome which I'm sure it was. But I really don't understand why there is such inconsistency in the product and that makes me uncomfortable. And I don't know if that's why my Earth Fare store has stopped carrying them. I can tell you that Simba doesn't like these as much as when they were thinner pieces, but I'm still glad to be giving him 100% meat for a treat.

(More customer reviews)I really wish Amazon would list ingredients for the food products they sell, whether it's for human or animal consumption. For some reason I assumed Greenies were natural and it's completely my fault for not looking for the ingredients on another site before buying, but yeah... these are corn-based and thus not very different from the junk you can get in the supermarket. Oh, except these cost more. So why should I buy them?? Sure my cat likes them but she seems to like 95% of the treats I give her, plus simply liking them doesn't make them good/healthy for her - much like inhaling a box of Cheez-Its is deliciously naughty for me.
Here's the list of ingredients in the salmon Greenies for anyone who cares:

But you can find the same size bag for $3 or less at the grocery store, usually. Unless yours doesn't stock them, I don't see why you'd pay $5 at Amazon for them. Even with the 4-for-3 promo you're not getting a great deal.

Real Meat Lamb Liver Jerky Dog Treats Review

(More customer reviews)These treats are the bee's knees. I've bought them in EVERY flavor they offer. Lamb liver is a great flavor, but my pups love all the flavors equally, it seems. Each treat is about 1" wide and 1" to 1-1/2" in length. Good sized treat for a bigger dog, and if you have smaller dogs like my shelties, these jerky treats tear apart easily into smaller bites with no crumbs, no mess. They smell like the jerky I buy for myself, and have quality ingredients. The shelties love them! I gave a bag to my sister for her giant dogs and they love them too, they work hard for these treats to get them out of puzzle toys. My parents' little pom-terrier mix has a special place in her heart for anything liver, so these were well received (*snarf snarf snarf*) by that pup too.
My younger sheltie can't handle grain or gluten... he has epilepsy that is possibly triggered by gluten, so I feed both furkids grain-free everything. Even if he didn't have epilepsy, I'd probably still feed grain-free, including these treats, because my shelties have *fantastic* silky soft coats from feeding them this way. I don't buy these treats here, I get them elsewhere, but they are a fantastic deal for 12 ounces of treats, it's a LOT of little torn-up bite-sized treats for my shelties during training. Each bag lasts me about a month, I think.

I would just give him 1 or 2 pieces and 5 minutes later he'd vomit on my carpet! Greenies he can eat and they don't make him sick. Every day when I get home he waits impatiently for his treats. My other cat who never liked cat treats, not surprisingly, has no interest in these. The price is good too. Even with shipping it's cheaper than what I paid in a local store.

The price that Amazon charges is HALF of what I pay at my local pet store if I have to buy them there. The ingredients are pure, natural, and healthy. The jerky is not dried out and brittle; it is moist and chewy. No carbohydrates to make your pet gain weight either. My cats even like these (I break them into small pieces for them). The beef ones almost smell like they have a little bacon in them (but they don't). My dogs come running the minute they hear the rustle of this bag when I pick it up. BUT my friend's dog thinks these are the best things since Puppy Chow and she will NOT leave me alone if her nose sniffs out that I have a baggie with a couple of these in my pocket for her! I like that they are not full of grains and other assorted junk that our pets don't need to eat. Nice reclosable bag too, which is convenient.
