(More customer reviews)i love this oil. i've tried others but they have a strong fish odor, this one doesn't. the pump could be improved as it seems to leak a bit, but i sit it in a dish to keep the counter clean. my dogs coats and skin look great! less shedding and less itching! we also add a pinch of MSM (for horses, look for 1 lb containers, it'll last a lifetime) the dogs don't even taste it and it really takes away the itchy paw licking.

The results were quick (within a month). The only "special" advice I would offer is KEEP IT REFRIGERATED. Our malamute is obsessively food-centric... he will eat almost anything; but when the last of the large bottle I was storing at room temperature (mid sixties) went rancid he refused his kibble. I made the mistake of buying 4 large bottles all at once. I suggest you get them one at a time and keep it refrigerated (even though it says you can keep it at room temperature).

We've gone through it all, from weekly vet visits, to yeast treatments, injected steriods and califlowered ear canals. I felt so bad for him! Not only was there a constant stink (either from an infection or the latest medication) but one ear had been so badly damaged, he could no longer raise it and it was always lopsided, hangly limply against the side of his head.

When you open a can of Wagatha's "Breakfast Dog Biscuits" you get a smell like fresh baked banana nut muffins. And according to my wife, (who is very rigorous about such things), that's pretty much the way they taste. There are good reasons for that - the bicuits are 100% organic, (they are also kosher), and contain dried apples and bananas as well as maple sugar and cinnamon. They are also wheat and lactose free - the cereals used are spelt, oats, brown rice and barley. There's nothing in "Breakfast Dog Biscuits" that you wouldn't eat yourself.
There are about 30 biscuits to a can - but the biscuits are easily broken in half and a half is a nice mouthful for a small to medium sized dog. They are not inexpensive, but the quality is extremely high - and the banana-apple-cinnamon flavor is a nice change of pace from the usual flavors. The "Three Muske-Terriers," (a male Westie, a female Scotty and a male Cesky ), give Breakfast Dog Bisquits five stars.

I had tried gently switching between foods (started by mixing in a little of the new food into the old and progressing from there) and yogurt...and well just about everything I could to help him. I saw this new product one day and gave it a shot. With in 48 hours my greyhound had firmed up stools and the gas was barely there. Since then I have sprinkled some of this over his food whenever things start going awry in his intestines and tummy. Each time it has helped him in a very short time. I don't know if it will work for everyone, but it sure seemed to preform nothing short of a miracle for my hound. Follow the instructions on the bottle - feed the amount perscribed once a day and hopefully it will help your hound out too.

(More customer reviews)I am a small animal vet and find this is the best way to get appropriate doses of omega 3 fatty acids into my dog and those I treat.
The stuff must taste pretty good as when I forget to put it on his food, my dog won't eat!
The only downside is the fishy smell on my hands after I handle the bottle -- although it's easily washed away with dish soap.
I also really like the large dispenser and pump.

(More customer reviews)I have been using The Missing Link for Dogs since I read a review of it several years ago. It comes in powder form and I mix it in daily with my dogs' dinners. I had used Pet Tabs for years but am much more pleased with the contents listed on Missing Link. My dogs' coats and skin have improved, and I feel I am adding a quality supplement to their diet. I tried the Missing Link with glucosamine for my arthritic dog but honestly didn't see any improvement -- instead I use Syn-Flex (a liquid) and have seen remarkable improvement in his movement -- so I don't really recommend the Missing Link with glucosamine. But I DO recommend the regular Missing Link. Take a look at the list of ingredients and I think you'll be happily surprised. I order it here thru Amazon and the company it comes from (Entirely Pets) is extremely prompt in shipping my order.
Missing Link comes in a sturdy foil package to keep it fresh, but I transfer it to a glass container for ease of use, and store the remaining in a cool place. It stays fresh in the foil container, but we go through more than the average consumer since I have 4 dogs. Even using it with 4 dogs, I think it's a good buy for the money.
I try to give my dogs the best products and I think this is an excellent supplement to maintain a balanced diet.

It is probably due to arthritis, but she was born with small bone structure, which may have something to do with it. She doesn't have the thick legs and joints of your average herding dog. We put her on a product called FlexPet ([...]) for quite a while, which had fair results in the beginning, but later our sheltie would just lay around because she could not comfortably get up.
When she started to struggle even though we were giving her the FlexPet, we decided to change what we were giving her. We remembered that there was another tablet that we had read about in "The Whole Dog Journal", a monthly journal dedicated to the health and well-being of canines. After going through back issues that we have archived, we found the article in the May 2006 issue about American BioSciences DGP and decided to try it. The issue of "WDJ" can be found at the DGP website: [...] . We have had our sheltie on DGP now for about three months now and she is getting around better than she has in years. She jumps on and off the couch now, which is something that she hasn't been able to do in about 4 or 5 years (not for a lack of trying).
The FlexPet didn't work for us, but that's not to say that it won't work for other dogs. Different dogs may have drastically different reactions to the same remedy. In our case, the first supplement that we had our sheltie on worked for a while, but then stopped working. Other dogs do very well on the same supplement. When the first stopped working, we switched to this DGP and, so far, we have had extraordinary results. Hopefully the same thing will not happen with this supplement and our sheltie will continue to be full of energy and life.

(More customer reviews)Probios dog treats are dry "probiotic," lactose-free dog biscuits that are supposed to "promote healthy digestion and total body health." These biscuits are formulated to help dogs with digestive upset or diarrhea, and are labeled for use for intermittent or supplemental feeding only. The active ingredients (listed in order) include: barley flour, rice flour, potato flakes, peanut flour, soy oil, dried Bacillus subtilis fermentation product, dried Bacillus lichenformis fermentation product, and sodium alumnio silicate.
The problem with some probiotics, however, is that sometimes the good bacteria (or Bacillus) may be killed off in the stomach, before it has a chance to work in the small intestines. The second issue that I noticed is that none of the ingredients contain high-fiber ingredients, which may be beneficial for diarrhea. That said, most of the ingredients are bland, which is helpful when a dog has gastrointestinal upset. As for palatability: I tried these on my own dog, JP, who didn't have any diarrhea of GI upset. Unfortunately, he didn't love these, and only ate them with urging. One paw down for palatability.

I bought it for a occasional treat since he only eats dry dog food, I thought it would be a nice treat for him to have a lil something extra every now and then. But this stuff stinks really bad like dirt, it makes the whole area where the dog eats smell like we just opened and bag of soil in the house. If they could improve the smell of it, that would be awesome, because our dog just loves it but we can't bare the smell of it.

Hartz Medicated Shampoo, 18 Ounce Review

(More customer reviews)I have a dog that has a lot of skin allergies (dust, mold, grasses, pollen, etc). This seems to help keep his sensitive skin a little more under control. It does not suds up as much as some brands, in case that is what you are looking for, but he always feels very clean when rinsed. I switched to a different soap when he seemed to be itching a little more (he ended up being allergic to his new collar) and I found that his itching/scratching was much worse when not using this product, so I know that this helps calm his skin even if there is a direct irritation.
The one draw back is that it has a very strong medicinal-melon scent. Initially it is very strong and sometimes overpowering, so if you are sensitive to scents, this may not be what you want to use. The scent dissipates some over the first couple of days, but it does linger, so he smells clean and freshly washed longer than with the unscented soaps.

KONG Stuff'N IQ Treats Baked Salmon, Dog Treat Review

Assuming the labeling is true - it is 100% salmon - no additives etc.
Also - we are assuming that the manufacturing process is safe (Blindly trusting Kong people - hope it is justified)
Our 1.5 yr old male Maltese is a fussy eater but he LOVES this treat.
Since he nibbles - at best - at his kibble - I tested using the salmon as a 'seasoning' to his meals and it seems to work most of the time.
The treats are easy to crumble into a powder and I just sprinkle it into the kibble and mix it up.
I'm guessing that the smell helps.
By the way - the treat does have a fairly strong odor and will probably cause your pet to have less than attractive breath - but as an apparent healthy treat (and in our case 'seasoning') it's definitely worth trying out.
Has a high protein count so keep that in mind with smaller dogs (ie small portions only)
If my assumptions are correct then I strongly recommend trying this product for your dog.

So, I cook up three racks of ribs, and smother the bacon sauce all over it. Great idea, right? Wrong! This bacon sauce did not taste good at all. I have definitely had worse BBQ sauce before, but this was in the bottom five, for sure. Then I looked at the label and I realized I was doing it all wrong! It is not bacon sauce, it is bacon dog sauce!. Once I tried the bacon dog sauce on an actual dog, it was much better. This sauce really brings out some of the natural flavors that a dog has. I would recommend this product to everyone! Just make sure to do it right.
