EVO Red Meat Small Bite Dry Dog Food Review

EVO Red Meat Small Bite Dry Dog Food
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is an outstanding dry dog food. High in protein(42%) and low in carbohydrates. Contains no grain fillers like corn, barley, wheat, or rice. It's pricey, but you're getting a far superior product. The major carbohydrate source is potatoes, which are also a good source of B vitamins and other minerals. There is a good range of fruits/vegetables in the food, whole eggs and a good range of probiotics. The product does not contain animal fat, but instead sunflower and herring oils which are excellent sources of Omega 3/6 EFAs.
This food is outstanding in that it contains no grains whatsoever. Grains are not a natural part of a canine diet and it is pleasing to see dog foods on the market that exclude grains completely from the diet. This is a far more natural food concept and combined with a complete lack of any low quality or controversial ingredients is the reason this food is placed in a class above the more conventional form dry dog foods.

I bought the 2.2 lb bag for a quoted price of 6.83. I thought the shipping was free, but turns out the shipping was $7.70. The shipping was more than the food. I would have never purchased the food had I known the shipping was not free. I contacted the distributor and they said they could do nothing. Beware and don't get ripped off like I was.

Innova EVO Dry Ferret Food Review

Innova EVO Dry Ferret Food
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Ferrets are obligate carnivores. They do not digest fiber well, and excess carbs in their diet is the most likely reason that we see such a high incidence of insulinoma in the USA (and other places where ferrets are fed kibble diets). The standard ferret (including zupreem or 8 in 1 ultimate) or cat food is estimated to contain upwards of 30% carbs!!! A ferret's natural diet (from looking at their cousin, the european polecat, from which Mustello furo is essentially genetically indistinguishable) should be mostly protein and fat, *very* low carb. Innova evo is guaranteed to be under 10% carbs, and it has the protein and fat that my fuzzies need to stay healthy. I can't recommend this food enough. I mix this food with Totally Ferret baby (which is the only TF food I really prefer...42% protein, less than 6% carbs, no corn, which is allergenic for many ferrets). If you don't want to order IE on the internet, you can go to their website and look for local retailers. My local natural pet food store will order a bag for me and not charge me shipping.

My dog, Gretel, has expressed nothing but undying gratitude for these phenomenal treats. She morphs into almost human appreciation for them everytime I share of the bag. They're small, though firm and crunchy, so I can regulate her intake nicely. She's only about 28 pounds, so this bag promises to hold out for some time, whence I intend to order more.

Go Natural Chicken, Fruit & Vegetable Cat Food Review

Go Natural Chicken, Fruit and Vegetable Cat Food
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I had my male cat on this food awhile back and he not only liked it, he seemed to do very well on it. I have tried everything from Acana, Wellness, Wellness Core, Innova, and a bunch of other cat foods and my cats did not do well on them. In researching cat foods, I discovered wet food is ideal and that carbs are bad, as they can cause diabetes, UTI, etc. My male cat has had 2 UTI's on other high carb foods. So now I've been trying grain free foods and making one of their meals canned food each day. But it is too costly to feed 3 cats only canned every day, so I want to split half dry half wet. I am torn between buying this food, which my cat did well on, or trying the grain free, which I don't know how they will do on. I was tempted to try EVO, but now I think it may actually be too high in protein. So I'm going to buy either this one or the grain free Go Natural cat food today. I'll probably try the grain free.

EVO Dog 95% Meat Chicken & Turkey Canned Dog Food Review

EVO Dog 95% Meat Chicken and Turkey Canned Dog Food
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
A fabulous blend of chicken and turkey meats, broth, vitamins, herring for beautiful hair. Absolutely NO GRAIN product. This is as close to raw feeding you will get without doing it yourself and that doesn't work for one or two little ones. Your little furbabies will love it.
On a delicate subject, it reduces the amount of stool passed by your dog as most of the food is absorbed by the body and not just passed on through. Don't forget that nice cold bowl of FRESH water.
Most probably can be found locally for $10 less. ;- )
DO NOT FEED TO LARGE DOGS -- LABS, GOLDENS, DANES, ETC. Their needs are different.

A little confusing because they tell you they'll ship in two shipments (I received two separate notices saying the product would go out on two separate dates), but then you get one package only. Great dogfood, but I found that it's cheaper to buy it at my local pet shop.

EVO Dog 95% Meat Duck Canned Dog Food Review

EVO Dog 95% Meat Duck Canned Dog Food
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Have you ever seen a dog out grazing in a field? Me neither. Have you looked at your dogs teeth? They look made for tearing and gnashing. Does your dog delicately chew their food before swallowing? Mine don't.
This is the way a vet explained to me the EVO food line for dogs, which is made from meat, not grain. Then when he told us that it was made for a dogs digestive track, unlike a man's; and that it was made to process meats and that because it was the meat and not grain that made their digestive tracks healthy and that when they eat how their digestion was designed, they would naturally have smaller, less frequent eliminations, with less stomach and bowel related gas & diarrhea, well, I was willing to give it a try.
I mix the duck with the chicken/turkey small bites for my indoor pups. They love it! It's improved the bowel issues my 12+ year old yorkie was experiencing. The fur and energy of my 3 year old Westie and my 2 year old Havanese doesn't need any nutritional supplementation while pregnant.
My only disappointment isn't with the product. I will never go back to any other product. My disappointment is with the online shipping costs. I don't begrudge the sellers/shipping companies making a little money, but geez! Shipping costs add almost a dollar a can to the price. That seems too high for me, so I'll probably stick with buying it local.

Evo Cat Treats Herring & Salmon Review

Evo Cat Treats Herring and Salmon
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We have two cats - one who is picky about her treats and one who eats just about everything.
As soon as I opened this bag, they both came tearing over to see what it was. I have never seen such purring, pawing at the bag, and frantic treat seeking before in my life! If I didn't know better, I would swear it was a bag if straight catnip, but I don't think that even that would get this big a reaction from the cats.
How much do they love them? We only give them reguarly when checking our diabetic cat's blood glucose. She has always tolerated this activity - barely - but now begins purring like crazy as soon as she sees us get out her test kit box, because she knows she'll get one of these treats. They are apparently so yummy that they make a needle jab in the ear sound like fun! Other cat has actually bashed the kit to the floor to open it, just to get to the treats.
I'm guessing there is not much that a cat wouldn't do for one of these seemingly addictive, crunchy, fishy smelling little delights.
We're thrilled that they are so in love with something from a health-oriented company; there is no junky "filler" in these, and they are grain free.
"Wild Cravings" treats are perhaps the most appropriately named pet product that we've ever purchased - cats seem to crave them, and will do some pretty wild things to get them!
