His stools were consistently soft and he frequently broke out in rashes and would scratch and itch until he bled. We kept trying new brands of dry food hoping to find something that agreed with him. I love it because her allergies have cleared up, I feel like I am feeding her something healthy, and her body is digesting most of it (don't have to clean up as much). I looked at most natural foods but she is allergic to salmon, lamb and carrots. That eliminated most of the options out there. I was so glad to find this food. I am not paying much more than I was when I was feeding her PetsMart's food and I am getting so much more.

EVO Adult Dog Canned Dog Food Review

That initiative will give them the gift of a longer, healthier life, eliminate many chronic health issues that pets face, save you money in vet bills in the long run... the list of benefits goes on and on.
I have done extensive research on canine and feline nutrition and I highly recommend, if you are going to feed commercial food, Welless, California Naturals or Innova. For a great complete meal, I give my dogs all one of those dry foods mixed with a little bit of canned from the same brands, water for hydration, a touch of a good quality essential oil (such as olive, flax, etc.), a touch of powdered kelp and alfalfa, a splash of organic apple cider vinegar, Prozyme digestive enzymes to unlock the nutrients in all that good food and top with a dollop of plain yogurt. It sounds like a lot, but it takes me less than 5 minutes to assemble the meals for 6 dogs - and they are ridiculously healthy an full of energy, even our 3 seniors who are 11, 12 and 13. I have two seniors with heart murmurs and at our most recent vet check, my dog with the worst heart murmur, a 12 year old beagle that I love desperately, had a 2-grade improvement in condition severity - that is HUGE. Good nutrition makes all the difference and, as an added bonus, I have yet to meet a dog that doesn't like it! In addition, some of Innova's canned foods are low carb by design which is terrific if you have a pooch that needs to lose a few pounds. Most dogs tend to be very carb sensitive - they simply don't need them as much as we do - and I have found that if mine get a little pudgy, I switch to giving them mostly or all low carb Innova and they drop the excess pretty quickly and without suffering through a diet.

The add made me think it was a 33# bag because the price of 50 something dollars was slashed through like this was some big sale. I fell for it, but you can believe I will be a lot more careful in the future. I have bought quite a bit from Amazon and it makes me unhappy that they would let this go on. If someone would mislead on size/price, what else would they mislead you on.

I have a Siberian Husky pup, and Canidae has really proven itself to me. As a former conissour of cheap discount store dog foods, I have finally realized the advantages of feeding a natural premium food. My dogs poop doesnt really stink! True! Poop is still poop, but the smell is minimal. I have noticed it also quickly disinigrates into the ground when it rains. With the cheap food, it smelled like rank dog poop! Would make you retch and gag! And there was so much of it! Less poop, firmer stools with barely any odor, less food consumed per day. AND NO BAD BREATH from your dog! A food that swells up when wet is also undesirable. Flint River Ranch brand and Canidae both stay intact, avoiding the bloat factor. I learned, you can learn too! It's also an excellent value - Try Canidae, you'll see!

I did extensive research on dog food and found out the mainstream brands are all crap, nothing but by products, additives, nothing natural about any of them.. Did research on Wellness and Blue Buffalo, look them up, you will find out for yourself.. Their products are all natural, no additives, no preservatives, 100% meat from animals that are NOT fed growth hormones, etc.. My dogs have been on this food, both wet and dry and they are thriving and the picture of health, bright eyes, shiny coats, full of energy and NO MORE allergies..

Innova Adult Large Bites Dry Dog Food Review

(More customer reviews)At $45.99, this price is a great deal BUT when you add the $17.02 shipping, the total comes to $63.01! I can buy this locally for $54.95 plus 6.5% tax for a total of $58.58! I have check other places online and I have come to the conclusion that buying locally is the least expensive.
I have been feeding Natura's Innova dry puppy and, later, large breed dog food to my 1-year old Golden Retriever mix since I adopted him at 11-weeks, and, the past few years, Innova Senior to my 11-year old Lab mix, 4 cups a day for the former who is almost 80-pounds, and 2 cups a day for the latter who is 65-pounds.
For years, I fed my Lab mix Science Diet because it was touted as recommended by vets. But, when skin issues developed (scratching) I started doing research and began my dog food education. I was surprised to learn about "sub-prime" ingredients and how much grain is used as filler. I switched to Nutro for a few years and that helped the allergies. More reading and I graduated to Innova. Expensive? Yes. I cringe every time I buy a bag and a part of me thinks there is a very large profit being made by the seller. But, knowing that I am feeding a quality dog food to my dogs, priceless. They are healthy, happy, and my Lab mix seldom scratches himself anymore.
The next step up would be Natura's EVO, a no-grain food, but unlike cats whose main ingrediant in their diets must be meat and would benefit from a no-grain diet, a dog diet may include vegetables, grains, and fruits, so I will probably stick with Innova.
So, 5-stars for the food, 0-stars for the "bargain" price.

My vet thought that he was allergic to grains and suggested I try the Nature's Variety GRAIN FREE dog food. After two months, chip's skin stopped flaking, his shedding reduced exponentailly and his coat was as shiny as when he was a pup. I was a skeptic in the beginning thinking that chip was on the pro plan diet and that was good, right? WRONG! I highly recommend this food. Do the research and find what low grade ingredients are in name brand pet foods on the market today. When all of the dog food poisionings and recalls happened you never seen this brand on the list. I truly am a believer in this product.
