Hartz Medicated Shampoo, 18 Ounce Review

(More customer reviews)I have a dog that has a lot of skin allergies (dust, mold, grasses, pollen, etc). This seems to help keep his sensitive skin a little more under control. It does not suds up as much as some brands, in case that is what you are looking for, but he always feels very clean when rinsed. I switched to a different soap when he seemed to be itching a little more (he ended up being allergic to his new collar) and I found that his itching/scratching was much worse when not using this product, so I know that this helps calm his skin even if there is a direct irritation.
The one draw back is that it has a very strong medicinal-melon scent. Initially it is very strong and sometimes overpowering, so if you are sensitive to scents, this may not be what you want to use. The scent dissipates some over the first couple of days, but it does linger, so he smells clean and freshly washed longer than with the unscented soaps.

We discovered that as soon as we stopped feeding dog kibble (even the very high-quality kind) the allergies and skin problems vanished. So now we feed them a natural diet and they are both much healthier. However, just in case we are missing out on some essential nutrients, we give them this vitamin every day. We also supplement with Dancing Paws Joint Maintenance (I have a separate review there) and so far the combo seems to be working! We have been using the DP products for 7 years, and are very satisfied that they improve the quality of our dogs' health.
