(More customer reviews)I was so happy to find this high quality food for our Abyssinians. They need the high level of protein, as they are very active cats. One of our three kitties seems to be allergic to nearly everything (all poultry - chicken, turkey, even duck though not as bad, grains, etc.). This food is one of the few brands that offers single protein sources (for instance, this is beef and does not contain any chicken, as many "beef" pet foods do), which helped us find a food to which our cat does not seem to be allergic. He no longer licks bald patches and isn't constantly vommitting. It's been tough to find a food that works for him and isn't too rich for his two little brothers. This has done the trick. The Instinct canned rabbit and venison are other flavors they enjoyed, but the beef has given us the best results. We supplement their diet with dry "Herring and Sweet Potato" so they can free feed on that throughout the day. Our kitties are healthy, happy, and have beautiful shiny coats. I fully recommend this product line.

(More customer reviews)While my dogs like all of the flavors that we have tried of this dog food, for some reason their itching increased when I tried the lamb and rice. I have some very itchy dogs and am giving them a limited ingredient dog food to try to help. The duck and sweet potato cut down on the itching significantly, but when we tried lamb and rice they started itching more once again. I like Natural Balance for the quality ingredients.

My maine coon had the same problem and being long hair her soft stool issue wasn't pretty. Within days of feeding her this food wet and dry her problem stopped. Her poo does smell terrible but it's been like that with every good quality food she's had. In all I highly recommend this food to anyone who has a cat with digestion, loose stool issues.

(More customer reviews)I have an English Bulldog, who is now 1.5 years old. He has suffered since he was about 6 months with terrible scratching. He will chew on his paws, lick his legs, do the fancy 3-leg-standing belly scratch, and often would lay on the brick hearth and scrape his chin back and forth. Needless to say, this would cause his skin to be red, raw, often broken, etc. Hot Spots weren't really a problem, but we could tell he was miserable. Ear infections plagued him for about 3-4 months repeatedly...

The vet was no help - the did try to alleviate his symptoms, but never tried to find the source of the problem. I decided after researching for a while, that a food allergy was to blame.I eradicated all corn and chicken from his diet, as these are common Bulldog allergens in food. I slowly switched him to Blue Buffalo Fish and Sweet Potato formula.
Previously, he had been on Eukanuba adult maintenance formula. I had raised many dogs in my life with this food formula, and they had led long and healthy lives. With a proper, slow integration of food, he did not encounter any loose stools, and his itching has greatly subsided. i have had him on this food now for 3 weeks, now eating only this food.
Bulldogs are BIG chewers, so I traded all his chicken basted rawhides for beef basted rawhides, and changed from Milkbone treats to another one made from Cranberries and Oatmeal with NO corn or poultry products.
He was tentative at first with the food change, as he would normally eat once a day around 4:30. Now, with his new Blue Buffalo food, he eats the food as soon as it hits the bowl, and is a much happier dog. His coat is healthier, and his shedding has slowed to a crawl!!!
I highly recommend this food to anyone!

We have tried many products with little success. The vita-derm made her itching worse and licking a lot worse. We gave her the recommended dosage daily and used the whole bottle. The product also gave our dog horrible gas. For a dog with severe allergies, don't waste your time or money with vita-derm.

Natural Balance Duck and Potato Formula Dog Treat Roll, 8-Ounce Review

(More customer reviews)My 3-yo Shih Tzu has had tummy problems for most of the 2+ years since I adopted her. She had an ongoing vomiting/acid tummy spit-up problem that completely ruined the carpets in my home. The vet was helpful in some respects (indicating that it was probably an allergy to the food she was eating, even though it was very high-quality food); but it was a neighbor who had been through the same thing with her now-older Border Collie when he was young that really got me on the right path.
What is that right path? Natural Balance products. Missy now eats the Natural Balance Vegetarian dry food because it is one of their allergy products and I just recently started supplementing the dry food with this Duck and Potato Formula Dog Treat Roll. It is intended to be used as a treat during training and I'm sure we'll get to that eventually but, for right now, it is the "icing on the cake" to motivate Missy to eat her food. I cut one small slice off the roll and then cube it very small and mix it in with her food--she goes BONKERS for it (if I wasn't sick with the flu right now, I'd have done a video of her reaction!).
The roll comes in at least two sizes that my pet food store carries--this wonderful little 8-oz roll and its much bigger cousin. I am averse to the smell and look of canned dog food, so I avoid it except when it has been necessary for Missy to have prescription food when she's been sick. What I loved about this roll is that it really doesn't look or smell like dog food at all! It smells sort of like duck jerky and looks and has the texture of a firm salami. It is firm enough to slice and dice VERY easily.
Most importantly, my dog LOVES it and ever since I started mixing it into her food, my picky eater who just grazed the top layer off her food to get whatever special stuff was on top is now snarfing down the bowl and leaving very little!
I got all new flooring in my home last month and Missy is a changed dog. Thank you, Natural Balance, for realizing that not every dog can eat chicken and beef and that some dogs have tummy or allergy problems requiring other options!

Diatomaceous Earth 12oz Shaker Review

(More customer reviews)We had a lot of cockroaches. A lot. It was disgusting. Apparently, they were in the walls, and other condos had problems with them as well. We started out only lightly dusting the Diatomaceous Earth through the kitchen, which is where the biggest problem was. A few weeks went by, and no doubt, some of them were dead. You can tell they were dehydrated. At one point, my boyfriend saw one of them stumbling as if it were drunk, covered in white powder. I knew it was working. We had to sweep them away constantly. But, did they all die? No. We started sprinkling more and more. At one point, the little kitchen was covered in white.
It's very eco-friendly, which is why I tried it. The dog and cat didn't go near it, but it didn't affect them. My boyfriend, who has severe allergies, wasn't affected by it as well. But, some of those suckers wouldn't die! Maybe the other reviewers didn't have as bad as a problem as we did. But, once we moved out (we didn't move out because of the cockroaches, but they did help) and we took away all of the food and moisture, they were pretty much gone.
So yes, it did work. I still have some. It lasts a long time. If I see some in our new place, I will no doubt use it again. Maybe our problem was just too big for this powder.
