(More customer reviews)These were sold to me as and my confirmation states "12" Bully Sticks Thick Select 25 pieces". (however they have since changed the name on the Amazon website to 12" Best Bully Sticks - 25 Piece Package). I feel that the original description, "Thick Select" was very misleading. I expected "Thick" Bully Sticks but I'm lucky if they are even 1/4 inch at best not the 1/2 to 1 inch as described. My dog goes through them within 10 minutes verses 30 mins. I have to say I will not be purchasing anymore Bully Sticks from BBS, Inc or Amazon. As I suggested to BBS, the "Thick" was removed from the description on the website however for me it's a day late and a dollar short.

If you have ever bought the cheaper brands you can tell how low quality they are by the smell. Well worth this money if you have a dog with huge drooly jaws like mine that need to tear through something other than your shoes or couch!

In spite of the much thinner sticks, it is still a much better deal than the store bought sticks.

When I opened the shipping box, I found a zip lock plastic bag with all of the sticks contained loosely within. There was no labeling at all on the bag or in the box. If you are like me you like to know the product information especially country of origin, preparation method, and manufacturer. The HPD information states that these sticks come from free-roaming bulls, but, who knows what I received. The smell of the product is sickly sweet and fairly pungent.
What was most disappointing though was the size of the sticks. An average size is about 1/2 inch in parameter. Many are around 1/4 inch. Only a few are close to 1 inch.
My cocker spaniel plowed through one of these sticks in about five minutes. Hardly the distraction that I intended.
Typically I purchase Cadet 12" bully sticks, cutting them down to 4 inch sticks. Cadet sticks are wide, have very little smell and contain product information. My dog takes about 30 minutes with these. Going forward I will order the Cadets.

That is insanely expensive. I can get a 6-pack of the 5 inch twists are Walgreens for $2. These are gigantic, and my dogs spent a couple hours entranced with them (the older dog actually gave up and left his for the younger dog).

So do I since they're one of the "chews" that actually last awhile.
For a real treat I sometimes smear peanut butter or cheese on them and send 'em all out into the fenced yard for the afternoon.
(smear the chews, not the dogs)
Get these...be creative or not, as you choose. But your dogs will probably appreciate them no matter what.

However, they are not messy, being braided and 12 inches, they're long enough and thick enough for him to have to really work to eat them. I tried the 6-in single chews and he would soften them up and swallow them whole! I definitely will be buying some more.
