I love it because her allergies have cleared up, I feel like I am feeding her something healthy, and her body is digesting most of it (don't have to clean up as much). I looked at most natural foods but she is allergic to salmon, lamb and carrots. That eliminated most of the options out there. I was so glad to find this food. I am not paying much more than I was when I was feeding her PetsMart's food and I am getting so much more.

Orijen Adult Formula Dry Dog Food Review

(More customer reviews)I have a 8.5 month old Aussie mix. She's about 42 lbs now. This food is magic!! I love it! She's never been "food motivated" and so she's always been a little reluctant to eat her kibble, but she honestly LIKES this stuff. She'll do tricks for it like it is a treat. More importantly, her poop is GREAT on this kibble. Finally, it's easy to pick up! This food is a godsend.
We've previously tried Innova EVO, California Natural Lamb and Rice Puppy and Adult, and Canidae All Life Stages. Innova EVO gave her the runs, but she was a new puppy. (The pet food store said EVO was rich enough for puppies. My vet disagreed.) California Natural seemed better, but her poop was always so soft that it was messy to pick up, and she never really liked it. She liked the taste of Canidae better - so much so that she would pick it out when I mixed it with the Lamb and Rice. However, her poop didn't really improve until we shifted to Orijen.
Magic. This stuff is magic, I say. Besides being the magic food for my dog, it's also made in Canada with almost all Canadian ingredients. From what I've read, they get rice from California and Lamb from New Zealand, but otherwise -- everything comes from farms in and around Alberta. No food recalls on this brand!
One word of advice: like with all good dog foods, it's best to keep the bag tightly closed. It goes stale.

Evanger's Super Premium 100% Venison for Dogs Review

(More customer reviews)My 15 year old dog stopped eating. She lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks, and just had no interest in eating anything, canned or dried. I tried several varieties, canned and dried, and in those 14 days, she ate maybe 1/2 can of food.
I went to my local pet store and bought several different varieties of dog food, worked out the ones that she would eat, but even then, she was down to maybe 1/2 can a day. Being a wolf hybrid, and only weighing 40 pounds, I was afraid she was on her last legs, so I went online and ordered several cans of different brands and flavors of dog food to see if I could get her to eat.
Of those kinds of dog food, only Evanger's consistently works. True, I still can't feed her the same flavor twice in a row, cause she won't eat it the second time around, but when I mix the grain free food with her dry dog food, she WILL eat the whole thing (1 full can of Evanger's + her normal serving of dry). It takes her all day, but she DOES eat it. At first, she 'snarfed' it, so I was feeding her two cans a day, but then she sorta lost interest again after gaining all her weight back. That's when I hit on the new 'I refuse to eat the same flavor two days in a row' issue, but at 15, I figure I can live with it.
So, really, don't care HOW they do it. I just know that all the other brands I have tried, this is the only one that is cost-usable-on-a-monthly-basis, and my dog will eat, so I will keep buying it as long as I can, and as long as my dog is still alive.

I have a Siberian Husky pup, and Canidae has really proven itself to me. As a former conissour of cheap discount store dog foods, I have finally realized the advantages of feeding a natural premium food. My dogs poop doesnt really stink! True! Poop is still poop, but the smell is minimal. I have noticed it also quickly disinigrates into the ground when it rains. With the cheap food, it smelled like rank dog poop! Would make you retch and gag! And there was so much of it! Less poop, firmer stools with barely any odor, less food consumed per day. AND NO BAD BREATH from your dog! A food that swells up when wet is also undesirable. Flint River Ranch brand and Canidae both stay intact, avoiding the bloat factor. I learned, you can learn too! It's also an excellent value - Try Canidae, you'll see!

(More customer reviews)I have two Giant Schnauzers. When I rescued my first Giant Schnauzer over 5 years ago, I researched dog foods. I knew I was NOT going to be feeding a raw diet and preferred a dry food. After researching I went with Eukanuba Large Breed Adult Dog food. My dogs love it! My 2 dogs are muscled up, work well, are healthy, have shiny coats and plenty of energy. I don't supplement their food. The vet always comments on how healthy my dogs are. I highly recommend this dog food for anyone, especially a large breed owner. I haven't ordered the food through Amazon simply because I pass a Petco on a regular basis. Now, if Amazon would offer this on a subscribe and save plan... I'd probably order through Amazon, since it's something I need on a regular basis. I took one star off since I can't subscribe to get the dog food, very inconvenient.

I did extensive research on dog food and found out the mainstream brands are all crap, nothing but by products, additives, nothing natural about any of them.. Did research on Wellness and Blue Buffalo, look them up, you will find out for yourself.. Their products are all natural, no additives, no preservatives, 100% meat from animals that are NOT fed growth hormones, etc.. My dogs have been on this food, both wet and dry and they are thriving and the picture of health, bright eyes, shiny coats, full of energy and NO MORE allergies..

Innova Adult Large Bites Dry Dog Food Review

(More customer reviews)At $45.99, this price is a great deal BUT when you add the $17.02 shipping, the total comes to $63.01! I can buy this locally for $54.95 plus 6.5% tax for a total of $58.58! I have check other places online and I have come to the conclusion that buying locally is the least expensive.
I have been feeding Natura's Innova dry puppy and, later, large breed dog food to my 1-year old Golden Retriever mix since I adopted him at 11-weeks, and, the past few years, Innova Senior to my 11-year old Lab mix, 4 cups a day for the former who is almost 80-pounds, and 2 cups a day for the latter who is 65-pounds.
For years, I fed my Lab mix Science Diet because it was touted as recommended by vets. But, when skin issues developed (scratching) I started doing research and began my dog food education. I was surprised to learn about "sub-prime" ingredients and how much grain is used as filler. I switched to Nutro for a few years and that helped the allergies. More reading and I graduated to Innova. Expensive? Yes. I cringe every time I buy a bag and a part of me thinks there is a very large profit being made by the seller. But, knowing that I am feeding a quality dog food to my dogs, priceless. They are healthy, happy, and my Lab mix seldom scratches himself anymore.
The next step up would be Natura's EVO, a no-grain food, but unlike cats whose main ingrediant in their diets must be meat and would benefit from a no-grain diet, a dog diet may include vegetables, grains, and fruits, so I will probably stick with Innova.
So, 5-stars for the food, 0-stars for the "bargain" price.

A couple of years ago, I switched to Solid Gold Hund-n-Flocken because of allergy problems my shepherds had. The dogs had previously been on Science diet for years - but I wanted an organic food that was corn free. I tried many organic dog foods - but the dogs would not even touch the food, until I found Hund-n-Flocken. The dogs love it and their allergies have greatly decreased (ear infections, itching, etc.) since they have been on the food.

The rescue recommended a certain type of dog food which we bought, but after about a week the puppy stopped eating it. She refused it and would just stand at her bowl looking at us. We had to hand feed her kibble by kibble to get her to eat. We tried a couple of different flavors from the same brand but got the same reaction from her. So eventually I tried feeding her this Blue Buffalo food (the lamb recipe for puppies). She loved it! She started eating her meals enthusiastically and finishing them without any help from us. She is 7 months old now and she is doing fantastic! She just had a vet checkup last week to get her flea/tick/heartworm preventatives and the vet said her weight is perfect. She looks beautiful - slim, muscular and athletic. Everyone who meets her comments on how her fur is soft and shiny. In short, we love feeding our girl this food because it keeps her active and happy.
