Royal Canin Dry Dog Food, German Shepherd 24 Formula, 33-Pound Bag Review

(More customer reviews)When we got our German Shepherd his parents were being fed this food and he was getting the puppy version of it. After doing a little research I've found that this is a good quality dog food. And it's specifically engineered for German Shepherds which have notoriously sensitive stomachs. I've tried other foods and with this one my dogs coat looks a lot healthier and he has more energy. It also lasts longer than a #40 bag of the cheap dog food since he doesn't have to eat as much to get full. I used to get this food at Petsmart but I have to drive 40 min either east or west from where I live to get to a Petsmart so I found it to be incredibly convenient to be able to order on Amazon. I still buy it at Petsmart but I don't have to make special trip just for dog food anymore. And with Amazon Prime I can get it shipped for free and it only cost about $3 more than at Petsmart but it cost more than that in gas to drive there. I've bought this here several times and will continue to buy it here since it's so convenient.

(More customer reviews)I highly recommend ALL Wellness products!! My Shih Tzu's were plaqued with severe allergy problems,, Spent $$$$ after $$$$ at vet for relief for them, nothing seemed to work.. I did extensive research on dog food and found out the mainstream brands are all crap, nothing but by products, additives, nothing natural about any of them.. Did research on Wellness and Blue Buffalo, look them up, you will find out for yourself.. Their products are all natural, no additives, no preservatives, 100% meat from animals that are NOT fed growth hormones, etc.. My dogs have been on this food, both wet and dry and they are thriving and the picture of health, bright eyes, shiny coats, full of energy and NO MORE allergies..

(More customer reviews)I adopted a 2 month old German Shorthaired Pointer puppy from a rescue organization last year. The rescue recommended a certain type of dog food which we bought, but after about a week the puppy stopped eating it. She refused it and would just stand at her bowl looking at us. We had to hand feed her kibble by kibble to get her to eat. We tried a couple of different flavors from the same brand but got the same reaction from her. So eventually I tried feeding her this Blue Buffalo food (the lamb recipe for puppies). She loved it! She started eating her meals enthusiastically and finishing them without any help from us. She is 7 months old now and she is doing fantastic! She just had a vet checkup last week to get her flea/tick/heartworm preventatives and the vet said her weight is perfect. She looks beautiful - slim, muscular and athletic. Everyone who meets her comments on how her fur is soft and shiny. In short, we love feeding our girl this food because it keeps her active and happy.

(More customer reviews)GSDs can be picky about what they eat and often have tender tummies--this food is the solution IMHO.
In May we adopted a rescued thin, sickly 2-1/2 year-old male GSD, AKC registered. We've been without a dog for years, and I wasn't sure what kibble to feed a younger dog. The pet store had Eukanuba and, out of the corner of my eye, I saw "for German Shepherds" and decided to try it even if it is a bit expensive.
It was the best pet food decision I've ever made.
He's bulked out now to a normal weight, has a coat that's incredible, and his breath is clean and sweet. It's great on his digestion--he doesn't eat grass anymore and has healthy poops everyday. Sure it might be pricey, but isn't your loyal companion and protector worth it?

Great product but not as I expected to avoid brushing my cats teeth.

(More customer reviews)My dog used to be on Nutro Natural Choice - recommended by a petsmart clerk... and his stool was always soft-runny and he went maybe three to five times a day. He was also very stinky. I switched him to Innova puppy food and let me tell you... the results were almost instantaneous. In a week, he stopped smelling bad and his stool became hard and he only went twice a day. It regulated his bowels so much I could not be happier. He looks better and has more energy. He will NOT go near the old food. We wanted to know if he had a taste preference as we suspected that he was eating less of his old food right before we made the switch. So we tried mixing the two foods and he would take a mouthful, spit it out on the ground, and only eat the Innova! This food is so great for him! I am so happy. Perfect ingredients for a young puppy. Do yourself and your dog a favor, educate yourself by going to [...]. Don't feed your dog Iams or the other big brands like Nutro, Pedigree, Beneful... They put the worst stuff in their foods!

(More customer reviews)I've been using Wellness "Just for Puppy" dry dog food mix ever since I brought my French Bulldog puppy home with great results. My pup simply loves his dog food and happily chows down at every meal.
With the positive results from the puppy food I decided to try out these Wellness "Just for Puppy Treats". Unfortunately, even though the ingredient list is impressive - real pieces of lamb & salmon along with a mix of veggies and fruit - the results have been less than ideal. These treats cause my pup to have room-clearing gas and make his stool extremely runny.
I planned on using these treats for obedience training and positive reinforcement for house breaking. But after putting up with a solid week of terrible gas and diarrhea I had to switch to a different puppy treat I purchase at my local Whole Foods. The results were immediately better - a lot less gas and firm stool.

(More customer reviews)I've been feeding this dog food to my older female pug for several months now. In the fall of this year she began to experience allergy related skin and stomach issues. These allergies resulted in excessive licking and nibbling at her feet as well as occasional throwing up. She hasn't thrown up since she started eating this food, and overall her skin issues have lessened (that could be a result of the change in seasons as well). She is always excited to eat her food, but what pug isn't? I mean they're always hungry right? Also, as she never seems to drink enough water, I'm glad she's getting some moisture as part of this soft food as well. The only thing I find displeasing out this product is that we buy it in cases, and the cans frequently arrive dented. I wouldn't buy dented cans for my own food, for fear of the food being tainted in some way. So I feel a little nervous feeding my dog some of these dented cans. Oh well, she seems fine thus far and the smell and look of the food is fairly consistent, so we're going to stick with this food for now.

(More customer reviews)Great ingredients although, chicken should have been 1st rather than chicken broth, the only thing I do not think belongs in it is Canola oil. Canola or rapeseed is not someting a dog would ever find in nature and if it did find rapeseed in nature and eat it, it would poison them. Today's Food industries have convinced the masses that Canola oil is a safe and even better oil than olive or virgin coconut, facts though say otherwise. Until the late 70's it was poisonous until they figured out a way to fix that. I still like it but it could be better.

(More customer reviews)we thought lily,at only 6 years of age, had about a year left to live - she was that weak and sickly. we wondered how our beautiful, strong german shepherd had failed so quickly. we decided that we had nothing to lose and perhaps it'd make her last days or months more pleasant if we took her off her natural supplements (glucosamine,msm,yucca), as well her pharmaceuticals. at the same time, we decided to change her dry dog food from a well-known brand we got at the supermarket to a more natural one. we did research and decided on Wellness Simple Solutions. we chose this one specifically because it had so few ingredients. lily was having alot of g.i. problems - she frequently vomited and it contained alot of mucus;she was itching alot and developed very scaly patches on her skin. she was a mess! her zest for life was disappearing. But, that was 3 months ago! lily no longer vomits; her itching has improved 85% or more; her coat is shiny and beautiful (people admire her wherever she goes); she goes on 45 min. leash or free walks/runs now, where just 3 mos. ago she was only able to go 15-20 mins. i attribute Much of her recovery to Wellness. it's so gratifying to see her feeling so Well again!
