My medium size cat bats this bowl around the entire kitchen, which is cute to watch, but not so great to clean up after all the time. I did not return it because I do like the large size, but really not "as advertised".

(More customer reviews)The bowl is nice, right size, but one of the most important features is horrible. The rubber ring that goes around the base of the bowl (to keep it from sliding around on the floor) has a gawd awful smell that I can't get rid of. It has such a strong rubber smell (like an old tire) that my dog won't eat or drink from the bowl. I have to remove the rubber ring in order for my dog to even go near the bowl. I've tried washing the ring with all kinds of soap and detergent, but the smell hasn't decreased a bit. Without the ring, this bowl is mostly useless because my dog noses it around on the floor. This isn't worth the cheap price. I'd spend more to get a bowl with rubber that doesn't stink up the room.

Petmate Stainless Style Pet Bowl Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this bowl for my cat. Initially I was very nervous as I had read a couple of other reviews saying that it was too big for cats, but honestly there aren't a lot of choices on Amazon for this style of pet bowl, so I picked it up anyway.

I got it in the mail yesterday and all my worries were put to rest. Unless you have a teeny, tiny cat, this bowl is just the right size. It holds a good serving of food without threatening to overflow. It also looks very clean and streamlined, unlike my previous pottery-style bowls which tended to look very clunky and silly.
The functionality of the non-skid on the bottom is just a delight. I put it down on the linoleum and was very gratified to hear and feel it thump straight down without sliding at all. The cat ate voraciously out of it last night and it didn't move an inch.
A great bowl at a great price. Highly recommended.
*important note: If you have linoleum, put down a mat under this bowl as it will dye the floor beneath it yellow over time.

The small sizes are great size for each of my miniature dachshund puppies who weight about 4 lbs now and may get up to 8 lbs. There is plenty of room still in the bowl for food when they get to their full size.
I got the Medium size for their water to share. They look good too!!

The only downside is that they are pretty easy to flip over. My puppy will get running around, bump into the bowl, and the food will go EVERYWHERE! If your dog is a bit more careful than mine, this bowl will be perfect for you.

The only bad thing is I put them in the dishwasher for an extra cleaning and the little dog prints on the outside faded. :( Still enjoying them however!

The rubber ring at the bottom comes easily off mine, which is nice if you decide to throw it in the dishwasher.

I bought two of them here at Amazon a week or two ago.
Mine are polished to a mirror finish both inside the bowls and on the outside too.
And I was happy to see that.
These bowls are nice and heavy.
I know from experience that heavy stainless-steel bowls are tip-proof when used for water, at least for kitties.
I had already read in customer reviews about the labels being glued very securely to the inside of these stainless steel pet bowls.
And that the labels were hard to remove.
After placing my order and while the order was in transit, I got on the web and looked for easy ways to remove such labels.
I saw two methods that looked good to me -
WD-40 or vinegar.
When my two stainless steel pet bowls arrived, I used vinegar.
I poured in a little bit of white vinegar into each bowl and let it soak overnight.
Then those labels came right off.

Our Pets Durapet Bowl Cat Dish Review

(More customer reviews)First of all these look like chrome inside, not stainless, and they arrive with some corrosion in the metal. Second these might be a cat bowl for a kitten a few weeks old but they definitely don't hold 8 oz. as described. These are TEENY! 8 oz. of water was overflowing at 1/2 that, and a measured 4 oz. of water was just about overflowing the dish too. They are an 1" high, and 4.75" wide. About the size of a small ash tray. I have no idea how these can possibly be suitable for an average sized cat, and if you tried to fill them up, the food and water would be all over the place. I'm sending them back, and writing this review to save someone else from making the same mistake.
