I researched on line and bought this one. First of all, as soon as she hears the bistro dispensing the food she runs to the machine and devours the food. For her last meal I add warm water to as recommended on the package to release its natural smells and flavors.

(More customer reviews)I adopted a 2 month old German Shorthaired Pointer puppy from a rescue organization last year. The rescue recommended a certain type of dog food which we bought, but after about a week the puppy stopped eating it. She refused it and would just stand at her bowl looking at us. We had to hand feed her kibble by kibble to get her to eat. We tried a couple of different flavors from the same brand but got the same reaction from her. So eventually I tried feeding her this Blue Buffalo food (the lamb recipe for puppies). She loved it! She started eating her meals enthusiastically and finishing them without any help from us. She is 7 months old now and she is doing fantastic! She just had a vet checkup last week to get her flea/tick/heartworm preventatives and the vet said her weight is perfect. She looks beautiful - slim, muscular and athletic. Everyone who meets her comments on how her fur is soft and shiny. In short, we love feeding our girl this food because it keeps her active and happy.

(More customer reviews)As an owner of a young American Mastiff pup, we had to switch to this due to some protein concerns. The more popular brands like Blue Buffalo and other brands are actually 25% higher in protein. The Holistic Select in my area can only be found in two specialty stores. Not only are they out of my way, they are about a buck higher in cost. I was hesitant about ordering from Amazon at first being a food product. I can assure you the service is outstanding. Each bag has always come inside a box and the food was protected. The shelf-life remaining on the food has always been greater than six months remaining. Plus, I save the gas money having to go get as it is left at my front door. I hope Amazon keeps this in their inventory and would be neat to see it added to their auto delivery program. Giant Breed dogs tend to do better on lamb based lower protein foods. If you are on the fence about Amazon handling this, let me reassure you that you will not find better pricing and consider the service of delivery to your door!!!

(More customer reviews)Though flea free, our 4lb Chihuahua was always scratching. After trying all the special shampoos and creams, our vet recommended a change of diet and suggested Blue Buffalo.
We'd switched to the "super premium" dog foods before (Canidae, Innova, Orijen), all of which he either would not eat or gave him the runs far longer the usual "adjustment" period.
Nearly a year later, he is thriving on Blue Buffalo. The ingredients are wonderful and wholesome, he actually gets excited at meal time, his coat is soft and shiny and his skin has stopped itching.
I'd like to note that those other brands weren't bad at all, they just weren't right for our little guy. Dogs are as particular and different as people, and because your Fido doesn't do well on Brand X doesn't make it a bad food, it just means you haven't found the right one for him. Just make sure the ingredients are good and wholesome, balanced and preferably as natural as possible.

(More customer reviews)I started feeding this to my 5 month old Yorkie; he has no problems transitioning to the food. We feed him two meals a day of this, with treat supplements and the occasional wet food (1/week or so).
He doesn't seem to notice the difference between the 'Life Bits' and the regular food. (He doesn't avoid them or anything, as I've heard of other dogs doing this).

(More customer reviews)My dog used to be on Nutro Natural Choice - recommended by a petsmart clerk... and his stool was always soft-runny and he went maybe three to five times a day. He was also very stinky. I switched him to Innova puppy food and let me tell you... the results were almost instantaneous. In a week, he stopped smelling bad and his stool became hard and he only went twice a day. It regulated his bowels so much I could not be happier. He looks better and has more energy. He will NOT go near the old food. We wanted to know if he had a taste preference as we suspected that he was eating less of his old food right before we made the switch. So we tried mixing the two foods and he would take a mouthful, spit it out on the ground, and only eat the Innova! This food is so great for him! I am so happy. Perfect ingredients for a young puppy. Do yourself and your dog a favor, educate yourself by going to [...]. Don't feed your dog Iams or the other big brands like Nutro, Pedigree, Beneful... They put the worst stuff in their foods!

The first 4 years, we tried at least 50 different kinds and I could NOT keep the weight on his little bones. Since switching to Halo, he's gained 2 pounds and is super healthy!! I feed my pregnant momma's and our 3-week old puppies Halo and again, they are super healthy! I love that I can pronounce every ingredient in the list! When I feed the canned, I can actually see peas and carrots and meat! AMAZING!! even as a first food, puppy tummies digest it easily with no complications! I doubt I will ever feed anything else!

(More customer reviews)I've been using Wellness "Just for Puppy" dry dog food mix ever since I brought my French Bulldog puppy home with great results. My pup simply loves his dog food and happily chows down at every meal.
With the positive results from the puppy food I decided to try out these Wellness "Just for Puppy Treats". Unfortunately, even though the ingredient list is impressive - real pieces of lamb & salmon along with a mix of veggies and fruit - the results have been less than ideal. These treats cause my pup to have room-clearing gas and make his stool extremely runny.
I planned on using these treats for obedience training and positive reinforcement for house breaking. But after putting up with a solid week of terrible gas and diarrhea I had to switch to a different puppy treat I purchase at my local Whole Foods. The results were immediately better - a lot less gas and firm stool.

They only last about 6-8 minutes, but I have a large dog who is a healthy chewer. I feel good giving him this treat because of the ingredients, and because it's made in the USA! (More customer reviews)I have a 7-month old terrier/german shep mix (a pound puppy, yes) who seems like she's going to end up around 50 or 60 pounds. I did a lot of research before I went with this brand - I can't afford the high-end food but don't want to settle for cheap stuff just cuz the price is right and this fell right in the middle. It came highly recommended and comes out to about a dollar a day for Betsy. She likes it and seems to be benefitting from it - her coat looks nice, her body is filling out in the right places but she's not fat at all. However, I have never seen a dog poop soooooo much! At first I thought it was just the change in her diet - from street food to good food - but she's been on it for almost 2 months now and it's not letting up. She's healthy, has had all her shots, is in great condition, and eats the right amount according to the chart on the bag. But wow! I was under the impression that the better the food the LESS they poop... not the case with this. At least 3 times a day, minimum, and lots of it. I can only attribute it to the food and will change it when this second bag is gone.

Coat quality improved, no bowel problems. Energy levels are good. Only problem was one older toy couldn't manage the larger size Wolf King, so he is now on Solid Gold's "Just a Wee Bit". The other toys have no problem with the "big dog" food.

(More customer reviews)I have noticed a big difference in both of my dogs since they started eating this dog food. My pug-terrier mix had thinning wiry fur & her skin was inflamed. Her fur has really thickened & her skin is better. Both dogs don't eat as much either. They use to eat in the morning & evening but now eat only late afternoon. The food does seem a little expensive but since they have cut down eating so much it probably balances out to what I was spending with store bought food.
