(More customer reviews)We bought this food for our 8 year old dog that has food allergies. Once he started eating this his scratching, hot spots, red flaky skin, etc. all went away within a short amount of time. The yard needs little clean up and he seems to be happy with it. His coat is shiny too which I love.
I just wish there were more ingredients in here to help his joints as he has arthritis in his front leg.
I would highly recommend this food to anyone. There are chunks (not teeny tiny, but large ones) of dried fruits and veggies that you can see that he loves. I also add in a fresh fruits and veggies as a treat once a week.

Natural Balance Sweet Potato and Venison Dog Treats, 14-Ounce Bag Review

But this 14oz bag came busted up and the treats are a bigger size than the size in a smaller bag. The treats were really brittle and broke easily. I wouldn't buy this one any more but will buy the smaller ones in a store.

Nutro Ultra Senior Dry Dog Food Review

Note: I'm not sure if this is a limited time offering, but the pricing of this food is cheaper on Amazon and shipping is free compared to directly from Petco.

Castor & Pollux Organix Adult Canine Formula Dry Dog Food Review

(More customer reviews)I fed this to my dogs for about 4 years. At the time I believed this to be the best food on the market. I didn't however know that it was so high in grains. The first ingredient is chicken, but it is weighed prior to being cooked. After processing, it only maintains 20-25% of its original weight. Were it to be weighed after dehydration, it would be much further down the ingredient hierarchy. My vet told me my dog's dry skin and lack of fur sheen was likely due to the high grain content of his food and insufficent Omega-3's in his diet. After calling C&P I was suprised to learn that the Omega-3 levels are only 0.28%, which is significantly lower than many other premium foods.
I have since switched to Orijen brand 6-Fish dog food. The Omega-3's are 4 times higher and the Glucosamine/Chondroitin levels approximately 10 times higher. All the fish are wild-caught in Canadian waters, never frozen, delivered daily, and are from species that retain little or no Mercury or PCB's in their tissue. My dog has since stopped scratching and has developed a vibrant, glossy coat. He is also much more energetic, which really alarmed me at first.
I don't believe C&P to be a bad food, but I believe that there are much better foods out there. Dog Food Analysis, a non-bias food review site, only rates the C&P(Ultramix and Organix) at 4 out of 6 stars. The only food brands to earn their 6 star rating were Orijen, Evo, Instinct, and Taste of the Wild. I made my final decision by comparing the ingredients.
If price is not a concern for you, then I'd encourage you to try the Orijen.

Natural Balance Potato & Duck Dog Treats Review

(More customer reviews)these "duckie treats" are wonderful. Our ten year old Chesapeake Bay Retriever developed food allergies and is now on a very restricted diet. Gone are his old dog bones and his favorite treat of a bit of bread (yes, he's a bread dog). With his "duckie treats" he barely notices that he's missing out on his bread, or we can at least distract him. He absolutely loves them. The only complaint is that the biscuits are rather small for a big dog; he usually gets two at a time. But overall this is a really really great product.

Nutro MAX Large Breed Adult Dog Food, 35 lbs. Review

(More customer reviews)Two things I like most about this food: 1. the size is big, so my dog chews them instead of swallows; 2. It's one of the few beef formula around (the other being PURINA ONE or the expensive Orijen). The Orijen is like $80 for 35 pounds--almost $2/lb. I would prefer to supplement my dog with Orijen if it were not that expensive. But for a lower price, I can give her real fresh beef (3-4 ounces a day) with her kibbles, which is even better than the Orijen. It seems that my dog likes Nutro Max better than Blue Buffalo's chicken. Unfortunately, Blue's Wildness, Lamb, Fish&SweetPotato, ..., are not that attractive to my dog. She likes only the chicken--the way she eats can pretty much tells you how much she likes each: I sample each one and put in her bowl to see which one she is more excited about: it turns out that the PURINA and Nutro Max won--they are not even as expensive as the others by Blue and Orijen.

He really enjoys this and we mix it with the dry version of the venison flavor. And so far so good this spring. He hasn't had nearly as many skin problems as last year. Great product!

We have zero problems with "dog odor"...in fact the groomer said he could tell she eats a good brand dog food. I will continue to purchase it online as it was hassle free and arrived on time and in good condition. (More customer reviews)I found this at a new pet store in Encino CA, after eating at Tony Roma's. I was looking for wet food that was very nutritious, made of lamb, beef or liver (I heard a lot of dogs and cats are allergic to chicken by products - but people don't really know about it.
I was looking for 'puppy' food for my pregnant dog.
I found this Lamb wet food. It said it was complete natural dog food for both puppies and adult dogs. So I tried it.
I checked the ingredients for the Lamb formula, and it has NO;
* Meat by-products (ground/rendered/cleaned parts of necks/feet/undeveloped eggs/intestines - parts that are generally less nutritious and are of lesser quality)
* Chemicals
* Fillers
* CORN/Corn-meal (all dog/cat foods seem to be made of) Who wants to feed their animal Corn, to get them full?
* Meat substitutes
* CHICKEN MEAL (consists of chicken-flesh and skin without bone, feathers, organs, etc). Would you buy a chicken and strip the skin off it to feed to your pet?
* Artificial preservatives(BHA/BHT, ethoxyquin, propyl gallate) and MANY more!
* No Artificial Preservatives, Flavors, Colors or Bleached Ingredients.
It does have Lamb Meal, which isn't something I like.
Although all around nutritious, I'm going to try 'Wellness Canned Dog Food for Puppy, 12pk of 12.5oz Cans.'
- Wellness can seems to have none of the above, and no chicken or lamb meal. It's cheaper too. A plus for me! ALWAYS read ingredients before purchasing cat or dog food. Even if the first ingredient is 'meat by product', or 'chicken meal', doesn't mean it's actual meat and nutritious for your pet. (It's the equivalent of a human eating imitation powdered mashed potato's instead of the real thing).

So, I cook up three racks of ribs, and smother the bacon sauce all over it. Great idea, right? Wrong! This bacon sauce did not taste good at all. I have definitely had worse BBQ sauce before, but this was in the bottom five, for sure. Then I looked at the label and I realized I was doing it all wrong! It is not bacon sauce, it is bacon dog sauce!. Once I tried the bacon dog sauce on an actual dog, it was much better. This sauce really brings out some of the natural flavors that a dog has. I would recommend this product to everyone! Just make sure to do it right.

Natural Balance Sweet Potato & Fish Formula Dog Treats Review

(More customer reviews)I have an eight year old corgi who is my security system and my baby. He has had allergies all of his life, but recently they had gotten worse, with him having open sores on his underbelly, and bloodshot eyes, despite bi-weekly baths and benadryl. In an attempt to help his allergies I put him on these treats and the corresponding kibble. Six weeks later, his eyes are clear, he has stopped scratching, and his skin is much less red.
However, this dog food did something else, something that is amazing. Corgis are very prone to arthritis and hip problems. My corgi had also developed what looked like fairly advanced arthritis in all four legs, with a limp that seemed to move from hip to hip, depending on the weather. Aside from an occasional limp on one paw damaged by rolling his entire body weight over one shoulder from three feet in the air in a bad frisbee catch, his gait is entirely normal. I never thought I would see him move like this again. Amazing stuff.
