(More customer reviews)Looking for a way to save space in my feed room these seemed like the perfect solution. I had some reservations but after reading other reviews I purchased two storage units. I use them for 50 pound bags of horse feed and I defy someone to get 100 pounds in one. It is difficult to empty the feed bag into the front of the storage unit as you have to keep pushing the feed toward the back to make room for the rest of the bag. I don't find them particularly rugged either as the bottom one has collapsed a little on one corner after only a couple of months use. I appreciate their space saving feature but probably would not purchase another.

Gamma Vittles Vault II Airtight Pet Food Storage Container Review

(More customer reviews)I bought the 30lb version at a local PetSmart but returned it b/c although it was the right size, I returned it and ordered the larger 40lb version so I could buy larger bags of food for my puppy which per pound cost less. Anyhow, this container is great. It is space saving and not clunky and it really does seal the air out of the food. The description on Amazon doesn't say whether the top is black or granite but I received the granite one. Some containers are twice the price but don't do half the job. I'd recommend buying it from Amazon/Petfooddirect since it was the cheapest I could find anywhere (it's also hard to find in retail stores). Buying from Amazon will be a few dollars cheaper in shipping than directly from Petfooddirect. Pretty much, it's a garbage can with a nice lid for $26.51. Not bad but when you consider it's just plastic, it's kind of pricey but there are worse alternatives out there.

(More customer reviews)These work perfectly. I had ants in my horse feed and these containers have prevented them. The larger container takes a full bag of Senior feed!
I spray painted them as they will be stored outside so I don't want the light getting in.
They do the job 100%.
One of the lids had a faulty gasket and so was not airtight. I contacted the seller and they had a new lid dropshipped from the manufacturer VERY quickly. I was very pleased with the service.

(More customer reviews)I have been horrified to find the container where I keep my kitty's food a black swarming mass of ants. I like to buy pet food in bulk, as it's cheaper. But it takes a big container to hold it all. And most big containers aren't air tight. The Vittle Vault is like a dream, and a major play in my battle against the ants. The lid fits very snug with a rubber lining on the inside to keep the nasty pests out. And the screw on top, for easy daily access, also has a snug rubber lined fit. This is the best solution I've found for these problems, and I would recommend it to anyone else in a heartbeat!

(More customer reviews)I bought this container after i discovered my bitch was eating cat food right out of the large can i kept it in. She had figured out how to lift the lid with her nose. She was gaining weight and I couldn't figure out why until i discovered her munching to her heart's content.
The vittles vault has solved that problem completely. It's easy to open and close and if my dog ever figures it out I'll take her to Letterman for silly pet tricks.

Vittles Vault "Jr" Review

(More customer reviews)I used the Jr Vault to store food when travelling with my dogs. It's compact and sturdy. While the lid is not the "vault" lid seen on larger size Vittle Vaults, it does a good job at containing the pet food odors - i.e. my dogs don't try to dig their way to the trunk of the car to get at the container, they leave it alone in the hotel room and the car doesn't smell like dog food.
The Jr. Vittle Vault is not dog-proof. If you need a dog-proof food container, you may want to look at bear-proof food containment systems. The snap-on eating "dish" attached to the screw-cap lid should be cleaned after each use. Failing to do so will make the screw-cap lid dirty and smelly which means that your dog will try to chew the lid(s) as it now smells tasty.
This little vault would be make great countertop/pantry storage solution for a small dog or cat. It would also work well as a dog treat container.
A lesser-know use for the Jr. Vault... Shake the Jr Vault (with food inside) and your dogs will come to your feet very quickly ;)

(More customer reviews)I purchase flour in 25 or 50lb bags to save money. Unfortunately I have had to leave it in the bag. I tried other plastic containers but they were all difficult to open, hard to get to, and never sealed tight.
This container is GREAT! The seal is air tight, very easy to open, and does not make a mess when I open it up. The plastic is thick so the container does not bend or twist. Finally, its shape is perfect for me. I can stack three on top of each other (bread flour, whole wheat, and rye) and still open each one up. Try that with other large containers!

I had placed this storage container in a outdoor storage shed and had major problems with ants. Since moving it to the garage, I haven't had any more problems. I have used these to store dog food, cat litter and dog treats. They have served their purpose. Only downside is that the lid doesn't fit tighter. I have used both the 100 and the 40.

None of the animals have even TRIED to chew into it, I think because the screw-on lids really do seal in the smell. I have one stacked on top of the other, so they are very space efficient. One thing I really like about this product is that it keeps the product fresh and fresh-smelling, without adding that nasty plastic smell. I go through a lot of feed with 4 dogs and 6 cats. Vittle Vault protects my feed investment from scavengers of all sizes and keeps the feed smelling as good as the day I opened the original bag. I've tried other containers, and this is by far the best! I use the size that holds 40 lbs of dry dog food, so I can easily move it needed, even when it's full. I have proven opinions on a lot of pet products, and this one is great!
