Petmate Heart Shaped Medium Pink Pet Bowl -- 1 Bowl Review

For the price, these bowls are awesome. I though they were ceramic but alas, they are plastic. My little kitten gets acne so I'm not sure if this will be okay for her, but I'm going to try. If not, I have a dog and two other cats :) I recommend them.

Fancy Feast Gourmet Kitten Food Review

Fancy Feast Gourmet Kitten Food

We use this kitten food for our feral kittens that come to us for some loving. They all enjoy this food, we haven't had one yet that doesn't dig right in. The smell isn't too strong either, even the sea food one. For the more wild kittens we find this food is a great ice-breaker to get them to start eating when they are still scared. Many of our kittens (and the mothers) come to us in poor condition; low weight and more worms than cat it seems. They fatten right up on this food, and you can see the difference on a daily basis.
When they get their worm medicine, they will often get sick and throw up their food. This stuff also doesn't smell too bad then either. Just so you don't think this is a post written by a company rep. :p
For some of the smaller kittens we get, we also mix in meat-based baby food. Mix it all together with some water (they never seem to drink enough), microwave for 8-9 seconds so it isn't too hot and serve it. My wife and I love watching the change in the cats as they grow into their bodies.
We also use this food for older cats that have weight issues, such as those caused by renal failure (loss of appetite, upset stomach, dehydration). It's a moist food, easy to add water to it, and they seem to respond well. When they start to turn away from this food, we know the end is near since it's hard to get them to eat anything if they don't eat this.
For pricing, we often find it cheaper at local stores. And, oddly enough, the single cans are frequently on sale well below the price of the 24-box price-per-can. But, Amazon is nice because of the home delivery.

KONG Cat Wobbler, Treat Dispensing Toy, Purple Review

KONG Cat Wobbler, Treat Dispensing Toy, Purple

I have 4 cats; 1 being a Maine coon. They really didn't seem like they could smell the treats that were inside the toy. They didn't care to play with the thing. But they did manage to rip that black fuzzy tail on top right off the toy immediately.
I wrote to Kong to tell them of my experience & got no reply. Very expensive black fuzzy tail toy.

Proselect Stainless Steel Coop Cup 16Oz Review

I wanted stainless steel food dishes that sat lower than the standard locking food cups for my ferrets, for use on the door of a (cat-sized) hard plastic travel crate. (A smaller crate might require 10 or 12 oz dishes.) By mounting the holder rings upside down, this causes the bowls to wedge into the ring tighter, and thus defeats all ferret efforts to spill the contents. They've never managed it even once, but it's still easy for me to remove the bowls for cleaning and refilling. (Because there isn't a tab on the bottom of these bowls they also sit flat on the counter!) I'm much happier with these proportions and this look. I also have four 20 oz versions in our Ferret Nation 142 cage. Love 'em!

Royal Canin Dry Cat Food, Kitten 36 Formula, 15-Pound Bag Review

Royal Canin Dry Cat Food, Kitten 36 Formula, 15-Pound Bag

I got my kittens from two different breeders both of whom were feeding RC Babycat and various other RC formulas for their sires and queens. I transitioned my kittens from Babycat to Kitten 36 very easily. Currently, they are close to one year old and I've gone ahead and begun the two way equal mix of RC Kitten 36 and RC Adult 27 for transitioning. So far, my experience with the 3 RC formulas have been excellent. I have an issue with the Adult formula kibble size but that's another review for another time.
My kittens love the taste of Kitten 36. We free feed dry by choice and my kittens love to munch on this kibble! Price is outrageous, but I pay it. One of the large box pet stores (5 letters in the name) has a very good customer program. After I signed up and told the system what kind of cat food I buy, I began getting coupons for RC cat food. Up to $3 off a bag, buy 4 cans get 1 free, etc. I'm taking one star off for price.
From my vet I learned RC caters to breeders with 'breed specific' formulas and just about every other targeted need from nuts to bolts. I don't know if breeders are getting kick backs or not. I'm embarrased to ask those breeders I know but really, I have no complaints. I believe RC spends alot of money on R&D and are truly interested in the health of our cats. Having said this, from my readings and poking around in the cat food world, there are other dry foods I might be interested in introducing. I plan on doing that using the new kibble as a treat rahter than a meal.
