(More customer reviews)I got a free package of busy bones with the purchase of beggin' strips with a coupon a couple weeks ago. I gave one to my dog expecting her to eat it up in a couple hours. To my surprise, she didn't. She ran around the house obsessing over the bone, hiding it. The next day, she brought it outside and buried it out in the yard- something she has never done before. After a couple days, she stopped being so obsessive, but played with it every day. She eventually did eat it after a week and I gave her the second from the package. I probably wouldn't buy another unless it was free, but I don't have anything against these.
As for other reviews about dogs getting hurt with these- I haven't personally seen it with my dog, and I am sorry you had a bad experience.

(More customer reviews)Gave our lab Busy Bone...we first broke it into smaller pieces as we felt the entire bone was too much to give her all at once. We had to use a sledge hammer to break it up...should have been a clue! She broke a back molar eating even a smaller section. A $400 dollar vet bill and one less tooth is the result of our using this treat. We have 2 unused packages that are going in the trash.

(More customer reviews)I bought one of these bones for my lab/shepard mix, 65 pound dog, and she loved it. I bought the first one from Petco and the large size was 8 dollars. Amazon is over 50% cheaper and there is free shipping. Before committing to 8 bones, you can do what I did and head on over to your local pet shop to see if they carry these bones and then see if your dog likes them. It takes my lab about 1 hour to eat the whole bone. I really like that it breaks into small pieces which eliminates my worries about my dog choking on a big piece of bone.
