(More customer reviews)My Vizsla is an EXTREMELY picky eater (won't even eat canned food by itself!) and I was hoping a "raw" food might please her picky palate. She is on a grain-free diet and doesn't tolerate chicken, lamb or beef so this was perfect for her! I also love that it is a nutritionally complete dog food. It doesn't have a strong smell at all (unlike most canned foods) and I was worried she wouldn't like it but she scarfed it right down, even mixed with dry food. I also like that you mix it with warm water, she seems to like warm food better. Great dogfood, well worth the price!

(More customer reviews)My dog LOVES this food. I bought it because I was looking for something closer to a raw diet. This is also the first food that we've seen a noticeable difference in her fur. The other foods claim that you'll feel and see a difference, but this is the first food that has actually done so! So much that the first week she was on it, I almost took her to the vet because I was concerned why her fur was getting softer. She really looks forward to meal time every day. Amazing food! Well worth the money!

My big dog loves it and she doesn't have the upset stomach and belching as she did before. Try this food if your dog has similar problems.

(More customer reviews)My three-year-old Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix is thriving on this food. He has had seizures since I adopted him along with severe skin allergies. Both have stopped completely since starting him on this food. It is the only grain-free food he will eat and it has helped me identify that he does have a grain allergy. He loves it and has actually lost weight on it (for him this is a good thing). He is currently maintaining a healthy weight. He does have a few issues with diarrhea, but has had the same issue on any food we have tried so I do not believe the food is causing it. Also, some of the bags do have Menadione Sodium Bisulfite listing as an ingredient. However, this is not listed as an ingredient on their Web site. From what I have read, they no longer use it and are simply using up old packaging which is very environmentally friendly.

Acana Pacifica Dry Dog Food Review

My dogs LOVE IT. I have three dogs, two 15 year old Pekingese that are VERY picky eaters and a Great Pyrenees that will eat just about EVERYTHING. I switched from another holistic dog food brand to this one since this is GRAIN FREE (even though it has potato in it) and my picky eater couldn't get enough of it.
However, when you first open the package, you can definitely smell the fishiness of it. It almost smells like those Asian style dried squid snack. But it is a lot more moist than most dry dog food and I can tell it tastes better by smelling it and looking at the texture of the food.
I was going to get the Orijen Six Fish instead of this one because of the dog food review website I was looking at. But after two hours spent reading user reviews from different websites, I found out Orijen had some serious problems with their dog and cat food where animals died or seriously injured after eating that brand. So far, I haven't read or seen anything bad about Acana, so I went ahead and bought the bag to try it out. I made sure I got the Pacifica one because it is one of the best kind of protein you can feed to your dogs (non-farmed fishes that is). So far so good, but its something that will take longer than just a month or two to reach... in order for them to get "better", I suspect I will have to continue them on this product for at least a few months to see the real difference. Perhaps I will write an update then.
