Lick Your Chops Treat-Umms Treats for Dogs Review

Lick Your Chops Treat-Umms Treats for Dogs
Average Reviews:

My dog is very picky. I tried these treats because he doesn't care for rawhide or 'chewy' types. These are baked and smell wonderful. Very crunchy and you can break them in two if you want. They come in a zip- lock bag to keep them fresh. They are a bit pricey (I wish they'd come in larger numbers) but well worth it for my dog.

Natural Balance Dog Food, Lamb Formula, 4 Pound Roll Review

Natural Balance Dog Food, Lamb Formula, 4 Pound Roll
Average Reviews:

I have a very picky eight year old dauchand who would never eat regular dog food. We tried everything from Iams,Science Diet, and Eukenuba and Gretchen would have none of it. She hated "dog food". I read about Natural Balance while on the internet and went to the pet store ASAP and bought her a beef roll. When I got it home and opened it I was surprised that it actually smelled good just like a summer sausage. Gretchen loves it!! For the past three months this has been her primary food and she really loves it and it does not end up in the trash like all the other dog foods that she has tried that she would have nothing to do with. This really is a great product for a picky dog.

My 6 month old mastiff, Gus LOVES these snacks, they're chewy so he can't just gobble them down too fast, and they're super healthy. The glucosamine & condrointin are great for any dog who grows as fast as my guy, and since they're vegetables I feel safe letting him have numerous treats a day, it's a win-win for both of us!

Natural Balance Beef and Rice Formula Dog Food Roll, 4-Pound Review

Natural Balance Beef and Rice Formula Dog Food Roll, 4-Pound
Average Reviews:

These smell great--like smoked dried salame. Once my father accidently sliced up a few to prepare them for his lunch before he saw the words "Dog Food" on them. That would have been funny.
Actually I have tasted these myself (as I do with everything I feed my dogs) and they are indeed quite good. Not salty nor gritty. It's like compressed mixed dried sausages.
I grate these into a scoop of Natural Balance Ultra dry kibble and the dogs simply can't get enough. They go crazy for these as treats also. A healthy alternative to expensive high-carb junkfood treats that beggin strips, snausages, greenies, milk bones, puperoni, canine carryouts, etc...
You know the food is good when you can use it as treats...

Evolve Nature's Menu Chicken, Whitefish & Sweet Potato Baked Dog Food Review

Evolve Nature's Menu Chicken, Whitefish and Sweet Potato Baked Dog Food
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I adopted a dog in Oct. 2007, and started trying different foods... grocery brands, Mighty dog, Iams, Eukanuba, and so forth, in various formulations. She will eat almost anything, whether or not it agrees with her intestinal system, but I wanted something healthy for her that would not have us running for the outdoor potty all day (or night) long. She liked Iams, but ended up being constipated half the time, also unpleasant! I saw some trial-sized bags in a pet store, and bought a couple. OMG, can I say my dog loves this food AND it agrees with her system? In addition to it being a great food (check out the ingredients), I can literally give her pieces of this as treats and rewards, she likes it that much. So many people who saw her when I first got her, and see her now, are extremely impressed at how much better she looks too. Since no one food is perfect for every dog, I highly recommend trying a small bag first, and then see if your dog likes it as much as mine does. As much as she likes it, I think she actually eats a bit less of it, because it's denser in calories, proteins and vitamins than most other foods, so it works out pricewise to be reasonable. I've also given it to my foster dogs, and their coats also improved on this food.

Buster Food Cube Large Size (Colors May Vary) Review

Buster Food Cube Large Size (Colors May Vary)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We have a Buster cube, a Pawprints giggle treat ball, and several Kongs (and similar toys). Our smart mutt (who seems to be some kind of herding dog) loves this toy. I pull it out whenever he seems bored or depressed. It has never failed to cheer him up. He immediately starts playing with the cube, usually for 15 minutes to about 40 minutes at a time.
Our lab has never figured the Buster Cube out, though. We bought a Pawprints treat ball (easier to use than the Buster Cube) for the lab but he chewed it up to get the treats out instead of hitting it around. (He did learn to hit the Pawprints treat ball around after we taped the hole he chewed in it but he gives up pretty quickly.)
Our mutt likes all kinds of treat toys but he likes the Buster Cube the best bc it's the most challenging. He'll play with it for about a while, then come back later (if we put more treats in ;). He likes the other treat cubes, too, but generally gets bored with them faster than he does the Buster Cube.
The cube is very durable. We've had the same one for several years. Our lab hasn't chewed through the Buster Cube in the 3 years we've had the lab, even though he destroys most dog toys (even the TireBiter toys), sometimes in a minute or two.
Downsides: the toy is noisy on hardwood or tile floors. Also, the dog bangs it into walls, furniture, etc. It's hard to clean and hard to open. I don't bother to open it, i just pour treats in the middle, shake them through the hole, and turn the cube several times.
Overall, an excellent toy for smart dogs who don't mind working for a treat. Your dog will probably either love it or ignore it. If your dog likes challenges, go for it. S/he'll probably play with this toy for hours.

Beef Tendons 1 lb. - Large Review

I'm a repeat customer for this item many times over. My 4 dogs love them.
So do I since they're one of the "chews" that actually last awhile.
For a real treat I sometimes smear peanut butter or cheese on them and send 'em all out into the fenced yard for the afternoon.
(smear the chews, not the dogs)
Get these...be creative or not, as you choose. But your dogs will probably appreciate them no matter what.

Dogswell Veggie Life Happy Hips Dog Chews 15 oz (425 g) Review

Dogswell Veggie Life Happy Hips Dog Chews 15 oz (425 g)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Since all the of the problems with pet foods and treats coming from China being tainted with various nasty things I have been on the hunt for pet treats made (and sourced) in the US, and Dogswell brand is one of the ones I've found. I didn't really notice that they were marked "happy hips", but really unless you have a toy sized breed the amount of glu/chon is too low to make much difference (the reason for only 4 stars). my dogs were a bit confused at first because they are quite chewy, but they do seem to really enjoy them, and I like giving them to my boxer when I crate her; it takes her a few minutes to completely consume it, and it seems to keep her occupied for the 10 or 15 minutes I leave her in there. I am lucky that my local pet shop has the entire line of Dogswell products, and I very much look forward to trying more of their products :)

I have a large golden retriever and she loves this bone. They are my secret weapon when I want her to be chill and interested in something other than running around the house.
The compressed bone is MUCH BETTER if you have a large dog who loves to chew.

Chicken Food Roll for Dogs, 4lb Review

Chicken Food Roll for Dogs, 4lb
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have used RedBarn for years. My dog loves it. I cut it into two inch chunks, Freeze it, and keep one chunk in the refrigerator. I cut off a small slice as a treat as Mosby (my dog) and I walk. He loves it and is eager to obey me. (Mosby is a relatively good dog, German Shepherd).
Other dogs we've tried it on also loved it and were easier to train. In one case, the owner said he was untrainable, and after a sample of the dog treat, he quickly learned to come to my whistle.
I routinely walk Mosby without a leash. He comes to a call, clap, or whistle (assuming the proper reward).
Unlike hot dog slices, this stuff is good for him. Mosby is now 11 YO and in fairly good shape.

Nutri-Vet Hip & Joint Peanut Butter Medium Dog Biscuits, 20 Pound Bulk Box Review

Nutri-Vet Hip and Joint Peanut Butter Medium Dog Biscuits, 20 Pound Bulk Box
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My two year old, hundred pound mutt (Great Dane/Doberman/Coon Hound mix) suddenly became so lame one day about a year ago that he couldn't put one hind foot on the ground. He couldn't even climb up into the car by himself. The vet diagnosed severe dysplasia and recommended a hip replacement surgery as soon as the inflammation subsided. We started him on a series of anti-inflammitories and pain killers which helped. But he still winced and limped and seemed stiff whenever the drugs began to wear off.
I started giving him two biscuits in the morning and two in the evening each day (one biscuit for each 25 pounds). Within six weeks he was acting like a happy tail pup again-- no limping, no wincing, no stiffness. Even the vet was pleasantly surprised at how well he is doing. The surgery is postponed indefinitely.
This product comes in a big cardboard shipping carton with a sturdy plastic moisture proof and insect proof bag, not a garbage bag. It is perfect for safely storing the biscuits that don't fit into the "cookie jar" on the counter top.
*** update ***
My latest order arrived today (July 20 2010) and the biscuits inside the cardboard carton were in a cheesy garbage bag! With a hole in it! The biscuits, however, were very fresh and yummy smelling so I transferred them to airtight containers for storage.

I love this product -- we get them for our dog, who has a sensitive stomach. They are 100 percent yam, no other ingredients, and they're clean (no staining on rugs, no yucky oils, dyes, etc.) I feel good giving these to my dog because I know that sweet potatoes are loaded with beta carotene and fiber -- it's good for us and good for the pups too!
