(More customer reviews)This diet is better than many others, don't get me wrong, but I believe it is best supplemented with other foods such as 8-1 ultimate crunchy in like a 3:1 ratio (1 being the zupreem), because this diet makes my ferret's poop really sticky and soft and harder to clean up.

(More customer reviews)Don't listen to the pet stores: Alfalfa kills pigs young. This food is alfalfa-free, and in addition, it's free of soy. Soy is hard to digest, so it's great that this food doesn't have it. I ran a small-animal rescue for several years, and this food solved several pigs' health problems (long-term hair loss being the big one). I definitely recommend this food.

Getting your ferret premium food has a very direct impact on both their lifespan and their quality of life. Since ferrets don't live that long this is especially important for them. ZuPreem gives them every thing they need and if you buy it in bulk it isn't even that expensive. We've got two tupperware type bins we bought at Walmart that we transfer the food into, otherwise it'll go stale at best or may gain extra protein of the buggy kind at worse. 30 pounds lasts our three carpet sharks about six months. I've bought from PetFoodDirect before and recommend you get on their mailing list because they have frequent sales. They've always shipped promptly and things arrived in good shape.

(More customer reviews)My ferret smelled it and did not eat it, I ordered it because my ferret is older now and I want to try and maintain him in a better condition than his previous owners. It might be that he is too used to his own food now, but he does like the corn made treats although those are full of sugars and corn, so I thought I would try these. But My chihuahua will eat anything and I can feed them to her, hence the two stars since it will not be a complete waste of money. Lastly the amazon description says 15 OZ and it is actually 1.5 OZ like it says under the longer product description.

An added incentive is, they throw and roll better than all the others and look so pretty all over the floor! She eats half and decorates with the rest. (More customer reviews)I've been feeding my two ferrets ZuPreem Premium for many years now. I've always been pleased with the results, but the new grain-free variety is really a cut above. After two months of the grain-free kibble, their coats are much softer than before (and it sounds strange but I SWEAR their eyes are more...twinkly, for lack of a better word). The oldest ferret is pushing 7 and had started to slow down lately, but he's become more active and playful on this diet.
With 42% protein, 18% fat, 2% fiber, and no corn or meat by-products, this really is one of the best dry foods on the market. It's a bit pricier than others of lesser quality, but the happiness and health of your ferrets is well worth the money.
And apparently it's DELICIOUS, as I've caught both my cats and my dog trying to sneak kibble between the bars of the ferret cage. Quite the recommendation, that :)
