(More customer reviews)My 4 year old Silky Terrier was a bit overweight. I talked to my breeder and also my Vet, and both of them recommended this Euk Small Breed Weight Control food. I tried it and MAN it worked. He slimmed down within about a month. He loves it too. He always picked and pecked at his food. Now he wolfs it down. I recommend this if your dog is a bit "fluffy".

(More customer reviews)I love my 85 lb yellow lab, Jake, and wanted to feed him something he loved but kept him from gaining weight since he has been fixed yet gave him all the nutrients needed. This food seems to fit the requirements. And I must say, after switching from the regular grocery store brands I have noticed that he passes less gas and his stools are a lot easier to pick up on our walkies (sorry for the TMI). I highly recommend Blue Buffalo foods, looks like the hype is well deserved.

Iams ProActive Health Weight Control Formula for Cats Review

(More customer reviews)I've got a hefty cat. At 14 lbs, she's definitely on the big-boned side of things. For about a year and a half we had her on this weight-control stuff, feeding her about a 1/2 cup a day as recommended on the packaging. But in that time, we hadn't seen any significant weight-loss.
About 6 months ago, we switched to the CostCo-brand stuff, and got lazy about measuring out her food and have just refilled her bowl when empty. Now, I suppose it's possible that the CostCo food doesn't taste very good, and that's why she eats less of it, but it seems to serve the same purpose, and it's not like she complains about it. After all is said and done, she's still 14 lbs.
I don't want to say it doesn't work, because maybe it will for your cat, but it didn't for mine so I wouldn't expect any miracles here. Still, it did serve its primary function (the cat ate it) despite not living up to its secondary function (the cat is still fat) so, 3 stars.
