We purchased this yesterday and it didn't take long for our dog, Einstein to figure it out. It's a great way to keep them busy. We put treats in it for the first go, but today he's having his breakfast via the Bob-A-Lot.
The video I've attached is his first encounter with the Bob-A-Lot. Now he's a pro in less than a day!

Nina Ottosson Dog Tornado Dog Puzzle Game Review

My dog absolutely LOVES this toy. He's a 70lb sheperad/lab mix and works this toy to get treats out. He's not a chewer, which is good, as the product is made from pressed board and wouldn't stand up to a chewer for more than about 10 minutes.
I would have given this 5 stars if:
1) it was only about 30 dollars
2) it had a little more difficulty to get at the treats on the middle layer.
All in all though, if you have a smart dog that needs some entertainment, this is a good product.

Kyjen Dog Games Paw Hide Treat Toy Review

I bought this puzzle to help entertain my smart and curious and food driven dogs. My "boys" love it! We play it every single day. Often to work on obedience (sit, get it, down, get it!) and just for fun administration of treats and even dinner. My golden retriever loves it, but is a chewer, so he must be supervised with it. He pulled the cups out and thought that in itself was the reward... LOL but once I simply pointed to the treat hidden in the pawprint dish, he figured it out and was a happy camper. I also bought the spinner, which is actually my favorite of the two styles. I can get my golden's entire kibble allotment for one meal (we feed twice a day) inside it, so it slows down his feeding (so he doesn't gulp it down and get bloat). I know that my dogs love it by the perked ears and bouncing when they see me pick one of the toys up. They also sit and wait to be "released" to start their game. Great fun! The plastic is nice too since you can disinfect it easily or wash it in the sink without worrying about warping, splitting, or cracking wood like on the expensive models of similar toys. Plus, the price has been great and I found it at my local canine speciality store too!

Nina Ottosson's Interactive Dog Toy Review

We own several of the Nina Ottosson dog toys, and my dogs love them all. The Dog Magic is the best one to start with if your dog is new to puzzle toys; it's easy for the dog to figure out. You hide treats in the bone-shaped depressions under the plastic bone-shaped cups, and the dog has to figure out how to dislodge the cups to get to the treats.
The trick to puzzle toys is to start easy and work your way up. Start by placing treats in the depressions and allowing the dog to get the treats (don't use the cups yet.) Your dog will figure this out pretty fast, then you can begin using the cups. Place the cups across the depressions the wrong way, so they are easy to dislodge. Once the dog is confident doing this, start placing the cups in the depressions the correct way and let the dog figure out how to remove them. You can make it more difficult by hiding treats under only a few of the cups for the dog to sniff out.
If your dog ever gets bored, or can't seem to figure it out, help them by encouraging them to move the cups, or backtrack to the previous step in learning the puzzle. Every dog learns differently - one of my dogs picks the cups up in her mouth, while the other removes them with his paws.
I like the plastic Nina Ottosson toys because they are so easy to clean. The cups fit right in the top rack of the dishwasher, and the base is easy to hand wash in the sink. A note of caution: this is an interactive toy only, and not meant to be left out for the dog to play with by himself. The plastic is too soft to withstand heavy chewing and would be destroyed in no time. I keep mine out of reach of the dogs when we're not playing the games together.

Give your dog hours of interactive fun with the Company of Animals Nina Ottosson Dog Tornado Interactive Plastic Toy. It requires your dog to dislodge the removable bones and turn the revolving sections to find the treats hidden underneath. It's easy for him to play, so he won't become frustrated and discouraged. You can place treats under one, several, or all of the bones to vary the game's difficulty. By switching the location of the treats, you can encourage your pet to really focus and explore. Dog Tornado is great stimulation for your pet, requiring mental and physical dexterity to play. Great for all ages and breeds. No assembly required.
