(More customer reviews)First, we use the included adapter to fit the bottles we use (cheap bottled water, standard 16oz type). It works great - the flow is very adjustable from only comes out if they lick, to a fast drip, to tightly closed. All of our dogs have picked up on using it right away, just let some dribble out at first. Great because you don't have to have a special bottle you have to clean out every time and you use less water then a fold up bowl.
Also, to note on others reviews, I would think if it wasn't plastic it wouldn't "bend" enough to form a tight seal when you close it.

(More customer reviews)I have tried a lot of different portable dog bowls because I have a service dog who goes everywhere with me and this one is definitely the best. I've had the ones that are bags and those are just not good. They are SO hard to clean because the dog's spit and any water gets in all the crevices and it gets smelly very quickly. I've had one that was kind of wallet0-like and folds flat, which was great for food but if you wanted to put water in it and weren't able to dry it completely it got moldy easily. This bowl is great. It is silicone so it's smooth inside which makes it easy to clean and since most of it is exposed all the time it dries on its own and doesn't get moldy or smelly. Plus it barely takes up any space in my backpack.

NON-SPILL WATER BOWL Review

(More customer reviews)My pointer loves water and wants a lot of it. I found it difficult trying to get a water bowl which would not tip over and have water all over the car.
The Waterhole Dish works for me. I have an area in the back of the car which has an plastic lip for holding groceries. I fill the entire area with pet cushions and rugs etc to make my dog comfortable on long trips. And I am able to wedge this bowl against the corner of the grocery lip with rugs around the bottom. It stays put and my dog has plenty of water. It is easy to fill without taking the top off. I carry a gallon jug of water with me in the back seat and replenish it when the dog needs additional water on the trip.
I love it because the water stays where it is supposed to be..in the dish and is readily available for my dog. I have put it in the top part of the dishwasher and have had no problems. I would not recommend putting it into the bottom section because the dish itself feels like a combination of plastic/rubber and it might change shape. It cleans easily and the top is easy to get on and off. And it snaps shut quickly (even if you are holding the dog with one hand and trying to snap it on with the other) and the top does not slip off. My dog has not been able to get the lid off..so the water stays put and is able to be easily accessed by him.
If your puppy has long ears, they don't flop in the water. I do not have a cat now but I imagine that it would be equally good for cats as well.
I would recommend it highly; but remember it is not weighted so in traveling it needs to be wedged against something in the back of the car, so as not to slide around. Once wedged it works perfectly for travel.
It would be a great container for food as well and is really both a water and feed container. Though I use it for car travel, it can easily be used for home, RV, boat or SUV travel and as both a feeder and a water container.
I have found it to be an excellent product and have been using the same bowl for two years now; with no problems.

Outward Hound Fold-a-bowl with Pocket Review

I like it better than other models because it folds flat and has a mesh pocket, convenient for stowing a few doggie bags, treats, etc. Plus, it's easy to hook onto a leash, water bottle or purse strap. It works great for my 11 lb dog and has easily accommodated his much larger friends. I'm buying another one!

(More customer reviews)First off, I probably should have ordered the smaller size, considering my little guy is under 8 lb. My fault.
The product does the job, but the design is not very ergonomic. The bottle is supposed to "snap in place" to the feeder, but I find the fit to be rather unstable and the feature itself, somewhat unnecessary. To boot, there really isn't anything stopping the water from escaping the bottle. I understand why it would be nice for the bottle to require a mere gentle squeeze to dispense water, but when the thing is just rolling around in the car or in your purse and leaks? I don't exaggerate when I say that the water leaks out when you simply hold the bottle upside down. If I could just take away half a star, it would probably be a better representation of my level of satisfaction with this product. I think with a little more digging, you can find something better on the market.
