Most places I looked only had bowls for small dogs, like for yorkies. These are nice, the rubber slip bottom prevents the bowls from sliding around the floor when our boy is chowin down, and they hold a good amount of food. They look pretty nice too.

(More customer reviews)Pugs are notoriously fast eaters. My youngest pug has choked on his food twice because a) he eats so fast and b) he doesn't bother to chew. This bowl doesn't solve the chewing issue, but it has certainly slowed him down.
I only gave 4 stars because I think the bowl with the knobs would be better suited for pugs. It's a little too hard for him to get to his food due to the dividers. I think this bowl works better for dogs with actual snouts.
My pug would probably give it 1 star. He is not too happy with this bowl. Every time I set it down in front of him, he looks at me like, "Seriously? We're still doing this?" But at least there's no more worries about him choking! (Until he figures out how to turn it over)

(More customer reviews)I ordered these as an interim solution to growing puppies. These are much smaller than I expected. The base requires assembly. This set, however, was not created even. When I set it up, it wobbled. So, I switched the legs to the other sides; same results. The wobbling causes the water to spill easily. It's very easy for the pups to push around. That's not what I was looking for. The bigger set might be more sturdy. This set would be good for someone who has a small dog that isn't very strong.

(More customer reviews)This bowl is indeed a non-spill. My yellow Labrador retriever had taken to carrying his old bowl around, Snoopy style. When I'd first fill it, he'd look at it, eat a mouthful or less, then intentionally tip it over and carry the bowl around for a while, spreading food far and wide in the process. It was funny the first 3 times.
So I bought this bowl. End of that problem!
It only took him about a week to tear off the rubber ring around the base. The rubber is there primarily to keep the bowl from flying around the eating area reminiscent of a food-filled hockey puck. Conveniently, that's not a problem I have with my dog, so I can deal without the rubber ring. If your dog plays hockey with his bowl, you'll want to keep looking. But if you're just trying to prevent easy tipping over, this bowl is perfect.
I definitely prefer metal bowls for my dog. They are so much easier to clean. So for me, this bowl is nearly perfect. Now, if I could just find one similar to my old ones, with rubber glued onto the bottom, but in this shape so he can't tip it over.

It was in an enormous box, but was right on the bottom without any padding under it. It is also pretty small, so if your looking to get this for any larger breed like a lab you may be disappointed. I gave it a good rating since its not really the bowls fault that is was broken.

Loving Pets Silver Bullet No-Tip Dish Cat/Dog Bowl Review

(More customer reviews)The bowl is nice, right size, but one of the most important features is horrible. The rubber ring that goes around the base of the bowl (to keep it from sliding around on the floor) has a gawd awful smell that I can't get rid of. It has such a strong rubber smell (like an old tire) that my dog won't eat or drink from the bowl. I have to remove the rubber ring in order for my dog to even go near the bowl. I've tried washing the ring with all kinds of soap and detergent, but the smell hasn't decreased a bit. Without the ring, this bowl is mostly useless because my dog noses it around on the floor. This isn't worth the cheap price. I'd spend more to get a bowl with rubber that doesn't stink up the room.

(More customer reviews)I have an English Cocker Spaniel. Her ears still got wet with these bowls. Also, it was easy for her to pull off the rubber that lines the bowl. I would have to keep putting it back on, which is a hassle. Eventually the rubber wore out and I was tired of trying to get it back on so I threw them out and get some better ones from PetCo that has rubber that cannot come off. I wouldn't recommend these for "long eared dogs"! Also, the quality is not best.
