A five pound sack of flour fits with enough room to scoop and measure flour without spilling. Top removes completely when it is time to replace contents. The stacking feature is a bonus.
**one of the latches broke off six months after purchase. Since the top is not taken off more often than every month or so, the cause seems to be quality rather than over usage.
