(More customer reviews)I was delighted to see a metal BrakeFast bowl was offered. The concept is good and works to slow down eating; however, the plastic ones don't hold up to an aggressive eater/chewer. Metal is much better, but this metal bowl has its problems, too. Don't know what the base metal is, but there seems to be a slick outer coating that, when chewed on the inside while the dog is eating, quickly develops deep scratches from the tooth action. This makes the bowl difficult to clean and bacteria can develop inside the scratches, plus I am worried that my dog may be ingesting metal scrapings. Why, oh why, isn't the bowl made out of good old straightforward stainless steel? Stainless steel doesn't scratch as easily (or as deeply), and certain would hold up better. These bowls are expensive, and the purchaser should not need to have to keep replacing them. Unless BrakeFast comes up with a stainless steel bowl, this will be the last time they see my money.
