Aside from our Lab eating the dog food sign 2 days after we set it up, we have had no problems with it. I added a simple hook and eye latch to the lid to keep him from opening it. I also added a piece of corrugated plastic to use as a liner holder, to keep the bag in place.
As they suggest, you definitely need to use a trash bag or other liner to pour the food into. Otherwise, you will end up with bits of food and crumbs at the bottom of the bin, that are difficult to clean. With the liner, you just pull it out and replace it when you refill the bin.
A great product. I would have rated it higher if it came with a latch and a system for holding the liner in place. But, I would purchase it again.
