Our puppy seemed to like this just fine, ate it plain without any food. Went through the bottle pretty quickly (we have a rather large puppy) but worked well and got here quickly.

Panacur Canine Dewormer 4 gram Review

Living with dog tapeworm is only partially fun. Recently after showering I noted a segment of one on my arm. I knew it came from my new puppy from the pound, as I had seen egg packets in his stool. As I am a microbiologist, I am familiar with all the common dog as well as human parasites, and am aware of certain characteristics that permit definitive diagnosis without having a microscope available; at least, diagnosis close enough to permit picking the right medication.
The text of the Amazon.com ad didn't say specifically, but on arrival, the package clearly said on the front, that it was effective against roundworms, hookworms, whipworms and tapeworms. The rear panel of the package clearly says panacur c is effective against Taenia species (of tapeworm) only. Dog tapeworm is a tapeworm of species Dyplidium - clearly I inadvertently bought the wrong medication. It cost only about $11, shipping incl. Not worth returning. (The medication I gave my dog was $28 (from groomer). Its effectiveness against D. caninum was plainly indicated on the box. I doubt my Chihuahua/terrier mix is big or old enough to host adult Taenia spp. but it is surely possible. His little gut would contain nothing but worm segments (proglottids).
I think the descriptive text should more clearly state what organisms it is effective against. Amazon.com lists this medication in packages designed with green, yellow or red hang (for display) tabs. It would be helpful if they had a comparative chart somewhere so the customer could determine the differences in packaging and effectiveness of each formulation against specific worms.

My boxer puppy has positive test results for a few different intestinal worms (roundworms, hookworms, and whipworms). As soon as I learned of these test results, I went to searching for help online. Panacur-c seemed like a good product that did what I needed, so I ordered it. Due to my dog's weight, I had to order both the 4-gram and 2-gram packets.
I gave the three doses, then followed a week later with another three days of panacur-c. Two weeks later, it was heartworm pill time (and the heartworm pills we have are supposed to prevent these other worms, too - he had just went on the heartworm pills when the other worm test was performed).
Not long after all this, his stool was no longer runny/loose. Previously, I could see one of the worm varieties on his stool (little white string looking things), but they no longer appear. He seems to be gaining weight a little better now, too. We'll be taking him in for another test to make sure the worms are gone, but the initial results are good.
Aside from the product, I had no problems with the seller. I placed my order and it arrived in a timely manner. That's all one can ask for. I'd buy from them again without hesitation.

Panacur-C Canine Dewormer 3 dose x 4 gram Review

My vet prescribed Panacur for 5 days as a treatment for giardia for a 80 lb dog I am fostering. My own 75-80 lb. lab and 2 goldens got the protozoa parasites from the foster. The parasite is gone in all 4 dogs after one treatment. There are no side effects with Panacur such as seizures and liver failure as there can be with metrodinazole (which is only 60% effective ... it takes 2-3 treatments to work). I didn't have to worry or have blood work done ($80/dog) before giving the medicine. Had I bought Panacur at one of the big box pet stores, the whole treatment would have cost $378 for the 4 dogs. From Amazon, it cost $108 including the shipping. It was received within 2 days (Louisiana to California), even though I did not ask for fast delivery.
