There is a *gasket* that I never use, I just let my dogs go straight to the water and it still doesn't spill out.

(More customer reviews)I liked this food tote a lot. It was very convenient for traveling with my dog. It's nice to have everything you need all in one tote. It has enough room for a good supply of food and a separate compartment for treats. In the long run I don't know how well it will hold up, the plastic isn't that sturdy, especially the bowls, but it works great for occasional use on outings or vacations. Overall I would recommend this.

With this the velcro sticks to the carpet and he can't get his paw under it. He tried to the very first time and from now on he gave up, so now I haven't had to clean up any water spills.
