Addiction Raw Dehydrated Dog Food, Homestyle Venison and Cranberry, 8 Pound Box Review

This is a quality product that my dog adores. I like it because I can make a little or a lot. We use this to supplement kibble as she is not on a raw diet. I used to make food or use a high quality can food, but find the Addiction to be a lot more convenient. Besides that, I don't like the smell of can food. This comes in plastic bags that you cannot reseal, so be prepared to transfer to an airtight container.

Honest Kitchen Keen, Low-Gluten Dehydrated Raw Dog Food w/ Turkey, 10 Pound Box Review

Honest Kitchen Keen, Low-Gluten Dehydrated Raw Dog Food w/ Turkey, 10 Pound Box

First, my dog gobbled it down just like it was canned food. It was pleasant for a human to work with. Super easy-just add water. High quality human grade ingredients. Tasted it myself.Felt like I was really giving her something healthy and alive instead of uniform baked brown kibble. Very versatile because it can stand on it's own, or you can mix it with their kibble. You can even add in your own touches if you want such as goat cheese, yogurt, extra fruits and veggies or raw meat, but it is complete and balanced as is. I'm hoping to clear up some skin and coat issues that just occured after 5 years of doing fine on Eagle Pack dry kibble. I'm willing to give live a food a shot and have often though of feeding raw but didn't know enough about dog nutrition to ward off doing more damage than good. With this food, I feel confident that she's getting the benefits of raw, with the convenience of instant oatmeal! Did research on the company. Very good clean facility, small family owned. I'll update in a month to see the progress we've made on this food. As far as cost, I was already paying $57 for 33lb dry kibble form Eagle Pack so This is actually a bit more cost effective because the 10 lb box makes 40lbs reconstituted. Eventually, I may switch to a different formula and add in my own fresh meat, but for now, it's a great way to get your feet wet in the raw food category without too much effort or knowledge.

BirkDale PetMix Homemade Dog Food Recipe 2 Lbs. Review

BirkDale PetMix Homemade Dog Food Recipe 2 Lbs.

What, nobody has reviewed the Birkdale Petmix? Well, here we go... If you have an interest in your dogs diet, and perhaps see a need to change it, then give this a shot. I bought it the first time a bit reluctantly and mixed in raw ground chicken with it. Fed it to my 2 dogs (I mixed it in with a quality kibble) and they gobbled it up. My main reason for trying this food was a greyhound that had digestive issues so I started feeding her raw food, and it did clear up her problems. When she got better, I didn't use this food too much, but recently bought several more pouches and forgive me for saying, her poopies are so much easier to pick up again. I don't mix raw meat with it anymore, it just smelled too much for me. So all I do is boil 2 liters of water, throw in 2-2.5 lbs of ground turkey/chicken or beef, when that is cooked, I throw in half of a 2 pound bag of the petmix and divide it up into 3 containers (freezing some). I add a couple scoops to their dry food at feeding time. It makes way too much for me if I use the whole bag at one time. I have to say it doesn't have the best smell, but I KNOW it is better than giving them canned food with who knows what ingredients are in it. I haven't really calculated the cost, but I believe using this costs a little bit more than buying cans, but it is also so much better, so I do it.
