(More customer reviews)I typically feed my birds a pelleted diet supplemented with fresh fruits and veggies but I am a firm believer in adding variety to their diets and mimicking what they would eat in nature. I first saw this bird food advertised in a magazine and was intrigued by the claims of seeds, nuts, fruits, bee pollen and herbs and thought this would be a good addition to my birds' diet. I have bought all four varieties (Celestial, Ti'kal, Veracruz, and Yucatan) and feed them to my parrots every few days, mixing up their normal routine. These foods have different textures, unsulfured fruits, no added dyes or chemicals and the birds love it! I keep the bags in my fridge to avoid bugs (seeds and dried beans can sometimes get pests) and with 6 parrots it still takes me about 4 months to go through all the bags. The verdict: Two wings up!!

(More customer reviews)Our Nanday Conure sure likes this food. She ate only seed mixture the first 16 years of her life, and was getting fat. We switched her to this stuff, per vet recommendation. Surprisingly, she took right to it. I expected her to balk, but she willingly ate this stuff. After 3 years on this, she's lost weight, too. Now the vet says she's a bit thin, and could stand some fattening up.
I think the mess is a bit less. There's no seed shells on the floor around the cage. There's some dust produced as she crunches up the food, but its not as bad as seed shells. No noticeable difference in what comes out the tail end of the bird.

(More customer reviews)I was Not Happy, with this product at all! It was all completely dried out to the point of being dust, and the sprays them selves were all undersized and falling apart. Over half of the contents was broken and in pieces and crumbling in the bottom of the box!
Save your self the trouble and just get the California Spray Millet next time!

(More customer reviews)I admit it. I have an obsession with feeding the birds. I've tried a variety of different feed and nothing attracts a bigger variety of birds than these suet cakes. The songbirds seem to especially like it - they wouldn't touch the wildbird seed mix I had in my feeders!
Although I have not tried them yet myself, none of my bird neighbors have complained when I bring this to their potluck.

An added incentive is, they throw and roll better than all the others and look so pretty all over the floor! She eats half and decorates with the rest. The other pellets,with the hideously high price, were totally ignored.
