I love that it has cork pads on the bottom so it doesn't slide around and it won't scratch the table it sits on (we have to keep the cat food away from the dogs!). The ceramic is nice an heavy so it doesn't seem like it will break easily, either. I have an 18 mo old daughter and I think if she dropped it, it wouldn't shatter into a million pieces.
