Took my cat a couple weeks to get over the fear of his head getting caught in the lid. In the video you can see how I modified it a bit, with a piece of stiff cardboard taped to the floor. This was a HUGE help for him to learn to use it. If the cat hits the lever with extra force the bowl might move, perhaps some velcro to more firmly secure it to the surface.
