(More customer reviews)First of all, I paid too much for this bowl. I recommend looking at Petsmart or Target and comparing prices.
Now, my cat has sensitive whiskers and I could not get him to eat or drink out of a traditional, deep bowl. This bowl is fairly wide and somewhat shallow to allow cats to eat and drink without letting their whiskers touch anything. One side of the bowl is slightly deeper to allow for more water. I find it awkward to move around and clean since both sides are attached (you can also find this style in separate bowls). If I want to empty the water but leave the food, I have to empty the food onto something first so I don't spill it all over the place. However, cleaning the bowl itself is a snap and I have found I can safely place it on the top shelf of my dishwasher (turn the hot air dry off).
Good investment, but in retrospect, I would have bought the separate bowls.
